Since last summer, Mrs. Morgan has worked tirelessly to create a positive, safe, and beautiful environment at Beverly Shores. She went into the community and built relationships with several local pastors. These partnerships have resulted in sand donations for the playgrounds and picnic tables for the students to enjoy lunch outside. In addition to her successful efforts in building community partnerships, the Beverly Shores staff has benefited from partner-sponsored breakfasts and lunches during long workdays. Moreover, because of Mrs. Morgan, all 650 students at her school received Christmas gifts, such as a blanket or a pillow.
Mrs. Morgan promotes a broad array of generalized family support. She works with her school's Leadership Team organizing family academic nights, including math, science and literacy events for the whole family. Food, books, translation services, and childcare are provided at no cost.
Every single day, Mrs. Morgan dedicates 100% of her energy to the students of Beverly Shores. She greets each of them with a warm smile and a "How are you doing today?"
"I have watched Mrs. Morgan in action by making sure those in need have all the basic essentials and food for the weekend," said her nominator. "Lake County Schools is so blessed to have her!"
