LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Gloria Garza was nominated by her principal, Maria Villarreal.

Mrs. Garza is the school secretary for a junior high school in a small rural school district in southwest Texas. She is a walking powerhouse of multitasking and commitment. At her job, she always has a positive attitude and is a consumate professional. She is a positive and stable influence for students and teachers. Every day, she brings her nurturing spirit to work as she works with staff and students and strives to do her best for them. She works with the student office co-ops to ensure they answer the phone appropriately and deliver messages or packages to staff in a friendly and polite manner. Her expectations are high, and the students always strive to meet them.  

"Anytime you see her in the hallway or in her office, you are greeted with a warm smile and a willingness to help which is unmatched," Villarreal said. "She has an excellent performance record and adheres to high moral and ethical standards. We are lucky to have such a dedicated individual working with us."

On top of with her regular duties, Mrs. Garza is a Sunday school teacher and mother of three.
