LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Donna Moore's nominator would like to remain anonymous.

Mrs. Moore is an experienced educator who continues to improve her craft through professional development opportunities and setting high standards for herself.  Although she is relatively new to Waiakeawaena Elementary, she has quickly become a valued asset to her grade level team and the rest of the staff.  Besides sitting on various committees, Mrs. Moore is part of a complex-wide Algebra Readiness initiative (PLC) to help students succeed in the K-12 continuum.  She is highly dedicated to helping students learn to read, and she is skilled in providing them with a strong foundation that will carry them through the rest of their lives.

Mrs. Moore's classroom is a community of learners who are highly engaged in academics and positive social interactions.  Students and adults engage in meaningful learning and positive relationship building.  Students feel supported by Mrs. Moore and their peers as they work together to make each other better.  Mrs. Moore has been extremely successful in engaging even her most struggling learners and has given them the foundation to thrive. Mrs. Moore has built positive relationships with parents and has proven to be an advocate for all students in her classroom. Her experience, wealth of knowledge, and commitment to education has been a blessing to not only her students, but the Waiakeawaena community.
