Jeri Farabough was nominated by her superintendent, Jon Laffoon.
Ms. Farabough is the director of the special education program at Star City School District. She is a leader who has the biggest heart and kindest soul. In the two years that Mr. Laffoon worked with Ms. Farabough, he has seen her make a positive impact on the lives of so many families and children. She makes students feel important, cared for, and nurtured. She always brings value to her school and has developed strong leadership capabilities.
Ms. Farabough has a strong desire to do the right thing and make a positive difference in her community. Her experiences from working as a speech therapist and in LEA have helped her make a big difference in the lives of others. She always dedicates her time to the community through Special Olympics, and often volunteers anytime the students or teachers need her.
Ms. Farabough is a hard worker who you can count on to see any project through to completion, and student success is always her first priority. She rides the bus every morning and afternoon to help out the drivers and students, and she even visits the homes of families in need. Many times, she'll go to the store and buy supplies, food, drinks, and other medical needs for students out of pocket. She is always willing to help the teachers if a student is having an issue, and she will make sure every student feels loved.
Every day, Ms. Farabough greets everyone with a smile and encouraging words every day. She has a servant’s spirit, models lifelong learning, understands the value of building relationships, and has a deep desire to make a positive impact in the world.
