Bradford Chase was nominated by an anonymous student.

Mr. Chase is a LifeChanger because he is a mentor figure to anyone who reaches out. He holds his students to high standards, all while inspiring the students to hold high standards for himself. Both of his advanced choirs have achieved superior with distinction rating at the state level. Under his direction, he has created an environment where students can be themselves without fear of judgment. He holds students accountable for their responsibilities and does a great job at balancing his sternness with compassion.

"There are times where I have broken down in class, and although he didn't stop rehearsal altogether to check if I was ok, he called me into his office after class to talk to me about what's going on," said his nominator. "He knows how to be an understanding teacher, but he also knows not to be taken advantage of."

Mr. Chase sees potential in everyone. He creates an environment of vulnerability that all students can be comfortable with. He instills confidence in his students and draws out their inner talents.

"I don't know how my life would be if I hadn't joined chorus and met Mr. Chase, but I can say that every time I walk into the chorus room, I'm always grateful that he is there, sitting by the piano," said his nominator.

My friend Brad Chase is a great treasure to his school and his students. He sees the importance of the individual and uses choral music as an art form to build up his students. His care is demonstrated through the purposeful planning he does for his classes. I’m proud of my colleague. He is a LifeChanger.

Mr. Chase has always been an incredible mentor and some may even say that he's like a father figure to everyone whom he teaches. He has such a big heart for everyone that walks in the classroom. Personally, whenever I was in a bad mood or just having a rough day, Mr. Chase always knew how to brighten EVERYONE'S day. With the goofy humor, bright smile and HUGE heart, he makes anyone's day better. I'm proud to have taken chorus with Mr. Chase, and it's great to see that he will be recognized for his amazing heart and accomplishments!

Mr.Chase is someone that cares so deeply for every single student that sits in his seats. His overall goal in teaching is not to have some perfect chorus, but to have a group of young adults that have a place to do what they love as a family. His classroom is a safe place for current students and alum; his office door is always open for us. As an alum now, it remarkable to see what he is still managing to accomplish and to know that I have not only a mentor but a friend I can confide in.

Studying under Mr. Chase changed my life completely. I transferred to WHS in the middle of my sophomore year and was so nervous to be the new kid, but I just remember feeling at home when I entered his chorus room. Chase creates a safe and joyful environment for his students where we all felt comfortable enough to ask questions and not be afraid to make mistakes. It’s also incredibly inspiring to know that his academic background makes him ridiculously overqualified for his job, yet he still spends his life teaching music to the upcoming generation and thoroughly enjoys it. Chase’s classroom was my home away from home — seriously, I’m pretty sure I spent more time in there than in my own house during my senior year. Over my years with Chase, I went from being a ridiculously shy, quiet introvert who planned on having a career in photography, to being the lead in a musical my senior year and majoring in musical theatre after graduation. He simply has a magical way of teaching and inspiring his students and continues to inspire my friends and I to this day.

Mr. Chase was hands down the best teacher I ever had. He not only taught me so much about music, but he taught me about life and inspired to take life and make the best of it. He is an inspiration to me and so many others. As hard as it is to believe, there are things that I learned in his choir room that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I am forever grateful for all that he taught me and all that he has done to inspire me.
