"Our principal has been a LifeChanger for so many people in our school and community," said her nominator. "Mrs. Steiger does so much for her students and the community. We have been an A-rated school for the past 9 years she has been at our school. She basically puts the school before her own family. She eats, sleep, and dreams about our school. This amazing principal was born to be a LifeChanger! Students and staff love her because she is so deeply involved in our school, from fundraisers, booster-thons, traveling with safety patrols to Washington, etc. She is so amazing and passionate about what she does. The test scores on our FSA's exams tell it all. Total distinction and merits with happy teachers, parents, and students."
We relocated from the UK 4 years ago and our number 1 priority was making sure our children settled. Mrs Steiger was a ‘life changer’ during this transitional period for us and continues to be so. She arranged a tour of the school during the summer months, spent time getting to know us and our children and even introduced us to some local families so we could arrange so play dates before the start of school. Totally over and above what we expected. Mrs Steiger knows our whole family by name and always has a chat whenever we see her in passing. All of the teachers at SPES love and respect her as do the kids. Every time we visit the school for events or teacher conferences my husband always says ‘this is the happiest place on earth’, and that is down to Mrs Steiger’s amazing leadership. Thank you!
Alicia Steiger has been such a positive life changer in the nine years I have had the privilege of working for her. Her leadership strengths are only outshined by her love of every single student in our school. She has a way about her that makes everyone around her want to do better and be better. She encourages her employees to push themselves outside of their comfort zone, try new things, become better educators and leaders. The students and parents at our school all feel like we are a family because of her leadership. I am grateful to have her to guide, encourage and lead me and my students. I believe she is the definition of a life-changer.
Mrs. Alicia Steiger is a top-notch and authentic principal! She exhibits exceptional, exemplary, and unique leadership qualities for all students and staff to follow. She is constantly finding new ways to improve our school no matter the difficulties at hand. I love that she is a visionary. Ooooh yes! She is also a continuous learner, adapting to all the new trends, and she is a self motivator, which is one of her strong points. She stands out amongst all the other principals in the Palm Beach School District. She makes it her duty to know her teachers. She can tell what each teacher likes or dislikes and she knows the names of family members of each teacher, ooooh, and she knows the names of EVERY student at Sunrise Park Elementary school. Now THAT'S a rare gift. I have known Mrs. Steiger for over 9 years now, and I have learned a vast amount from her as a principal, and friend. She allowed me to grow and glow, and I am a better teacher because of her. She allows me to have my own teaching style, while adhering fully to the curriculum, and she brings out the best in me. I feel blessed to know her.
Mrs. Steiger is constantly and consistently involved with our school. She is always present at after school parent events and she even gets in the dunk tank every year at our school carnival. Her school is like a family to her, she loves her "kiddos" and it is a major priority for our amazing principal. She aims at making everyone happy which includes, students, teachers, and parents in the community. It’s not an easy task being a principal, because there may be disagreements because she is not a rule breaker, yet she compromises and does a magical job in running a tight ship. I adore her, love her, and admire her for how she loves what she does, and she is truly awe-inspiring in making our school our second home for teachers, students, and staff alike. She also plan luncheons, fun events and special professional developments for teachers. Mrs. Steiger does a wondrous amount of extra activities at our school. She is truly dedicated and passionate about her role as a principal at the best school in Palm Beach County.
Her school is her castle, and she goes above and beyond to ensure success in our school in all areas, be it academically or socially for students, teachers, and staff. Mrs. Alicia Steiger is fair and consistent, and is credible in handling situations. She has an amazing standard approach in handling any situation at hand. I love that she has an open door policy, and is an excellent listener. She is always prepared to deal with whatever situations that may arise at our school. She disarms most difficult situations simply by showing care and willingness to hear them out. Mrs. Steiger has approximately 100 teachers to include non-instructional staff, so you can imagine how challenging it is to be in Mrs. Steiger’s shoes, and still, she prevails, always so organized, attentive and focused with a keen ability to find ways to earn the trust of everyone as she connects teachers, students, parents, and staff together. She is well loved by everyone in the community. Mrs. Steiger changes lives everyday! A born Lifechanger!
Mrs Steiger is the most amazing principal! There are no words to accurately describe her commitment and passion to the children, parents, and staff at Sunrise. Her enthusiasm is contagious! After many years she is still innovative, constantly finding new and better ways to teach EACH of the children in their own way so that they are successful, confident and kind kids. She is a team builder and a role model for not only her staff but for the parents. As a parent herself she shows her humanness and imperfections while guiding and supporting those who need it. She knows everyone’s name, is on top of all the issues that arise and brings fun, laughter and joy each and every day. She makes sunrise a hidden gem in boca and raises the bar of academic and social success. To have someone who is attending to our kids in such a meaningful, compassionate and supportive manner only models for our children the long lasting impact of kindness and caring. We are grateful that Mrs. Steiger has been at the helm of the ship for our children these past 7 years and know she has left an indelible mark on all of our lives! No one is more deserving of this life changer of the year award than Mrs Steiger!
Mrs. Steiger is one of the most well deserved life changers I know! She literally dedicates her life to her students, faculty, and staff. She has a rapport with her students and cares for each one of her “babies”. She was born to be a leader of our community!
I can’t describe to you in words how much this principal means to me and my family. She has gone way above and beyond what any principal does to help make us feel comfortable and accommodated. Her help with my daughter who is ESE has been invaluable. She is honestly the most caring principal around. Hands down.
Congratulations to Mrs. Steiger for being nominated for Life Changer of the Year! She is such a hardworking principal, who strives to have the best relationships with all of the students at Sunrise Park. She knows each one by name and even knows what is going on in their lives- both academically and personally, including their after school activities, sports, likes/dislikes, etc. It's quite impressive to see. She has been my boss for 9 years and has guided the staff to be the best versions of themselves each and every year. She puts the safety of her students and staff as a priority and isn't afraid to make the difficult decisions necessary in order to make our school the #bestschoolinPBC.
I’m convinced that Ms. Steiger has a clone that does half her work. Either that or she’s a super woman. I have never seen a principal be so responsive to parent concerns and yet give 110% to everything that goes on in the school. She is an amazing leader that leads with passion, compassion and efficiency. I have no doubt that she has the well being of all the kids at heart. I’m so happy to nominate such a deserving candidate for this award.
Your life changes when your child is off to school for the first time! It will never be the same and you entrust someone else to do what your job has been the last five years! Then you get Mrs. Steiger and you realize how lucky you and your child or children are to have a full time mother who steps in and steps up because we cannot be there! She puts her best face forward everyday blanketing our precious cargo and making sure their safety is top priority. Her job never ends her work never done her days never over she is on duty all the time because these children are in her heart! We have their past and she has their future!

Mrs Steiger defines the saying “Life changer” Mrs Steiger is truly a person who deserves to be recognized. The dedication and commitment she displays toward her school is like nothing you have ever seen. Her communication skills with her parents is amazing. She is truly dedicated and is each child’s biggest fan both inside the classroom and outside!
Mrs, Steiger is more than a principal!! She cares about her school, and expresses it through her actions! She cares about the children and her staff! She always happy to help, or to just be a listening ear. No need is to big or small. The past four years have exceeded my expectations and I know that she is behind it all.
Mrs Steiger is a one of a kind principal!! After moving from another state and starting my son in another school in the district we decided to tour Sunrise Park to possibly switch for the following school year. After meeting with Mrs Steiger we immediately pulled our son and started him at Sunrise Park. Her warmth and compassion is truly amazing and you can see how much she loves and cares for all of her students and staff. She makes each child feel special and gives them the confidence they need to be successful. Mrs Steiger is definitely a Lifechanger!!
