Ashley Massey was nominated by Ashley Mounger, the parent of a student.

"Is there a perfect way to say thank you to a teacher? Is there a perfect way to change these all too common words from the English language to communicate the intense emotion that is felt toward a person to whom they have entrusted their child? Can a teacher ever truly know the weight that these simple words carry when spoken by a genuinely grateful parent? Thank you must now become the channel through which sentiments can flow," said Mounger. "Thank you must encompass the raw emotion a parent feels when they realize their child has transformed into a more precious masterpiece than they could have ever imagined."

"As a parent, thank you becomes the heaviest words I've ever written," said Mounger. "Thank you, Ashley, for being selfless, and for allowing my child's worries to become yours. Your words of encouragement have allowed my child to find her voice and express it in a graceful manner. I can see the pride she carries and how she yearns to be a better person each day."

"Thank you for allowing my child to love you," said Mounger. "Your compassion for your profession resonates through all that you do. From becoming a part of the students' mariachi band and participating in all the pep-rally shenanigans, to the hours you spend reading and critiquing each child's work, your devotion to your students is seen every day. Thank you for the time you have committed to not only my child, but to all of your students."

"To answer the question, 'Is there a perfect way to say THANK YOU to a teacher?' Probably not, but I hope each and every teacher remembers there are parents everywhere who appreciate their commitment to our children," said Mounger. "Parents whose eyes fill with tears as they listen to their child recount their day. Mrs. Massey, thank you will certainly never feel adequate. I will always choke back tears as I read my child's papers or listen to her tell me, one more time, how much she loves you. I pray that you will always know that you are making a difference, each and every day."

Having Mrs. Massay as a teacher throughout highschool is why I'm where I am today. Not only is she one of the most inspirational teachers I know she treats ever student that walks into her classroom like her own, she cares so deeply about everybody and thanks to her I'm actually perusing degree in college and doing somthing productive. Mrs. Massay as a prior student to your classroom you've changed my life and many others thank you so much and keep doing what your doing.

This Lady has been the a part of my heart for over 15 yrs...maybe more. She has the heart of a saint and has always been a little comic. Her heart is as BIG AS TEXAS! She is a true blessing to me and my life! I know she's a beautiful person, as is her family, and well deserving of all good things in life! She brings light to those around her. Please keep voting for Ms. Massey. She's the best and I love her dearly!

Mrs. Massay was always my favorite teacher from the moment I stepped into her classroom. I’ve never felt truly cared for by a teacher until being her student. The way she taught could make the most boring thing to learn about really fun. She make my high school experience so much more enjoyable. She impacted me in such a positive way with the short time I had with her in class. and I’m very thankful and blessed to have been a student of hers!

Ashley is a great teacher, mother and a great person. There isn't a more deserving teacher/person anywhere! She gives 110% at everything. She ROCKS!

Mrs. Massey is a wonderful teacher. She knows how to push the kids to do their best but still have a great relationship with them. She individually works with the kids to get the most out of them and she will do anything for them. Several times she has missed out of something because my daughter asked her for help. She goes above and beyond for all her students and is simple amazing!!! We absolutely LOVE Mrs. Massey and so does both of my children. She is loved by all students.

Ashley was always such an incredible teacher who always had such a passion for her career and her students. A few years ago, I was going through some personal things that weighed heavily on me and she supported me through it all, constantly showing her love and support. I’ve never met anyone who loved her students unconditionally the way she does and I’m blessed to call her a friend all these years later.

As the mother of my 4 wonderful grandchildren I don’t know how you do it! Your husband works every weekend, long hours and you do it all. Piano, soccer, and church! Your kids are sweet and very well behaved!! Yet somehow you give everything you have to your students too! I hope you know how amazing I think you are!!
