Lisa Kelley was nominated by an anonymous colleague.
What makes a great teacher? Here are some things that they should be: kind, compassionate, positive, inspiring, and great at building relationships. Mrs. Kelley is all of these and more.
She calls herself an "edutainer," and that's exactly what she is. She is always trying to make learning fun by teaching creative lessons that the students want to be a part of. When Mrs. Kelley creates this environment, students who might be more prone to misbehavior, truancy or disengagement become more interested in coming to school and to her class.
Outside of school, Mrs. Kelley is a volunteer CASA (court appointed special advocate). She spends her spare time helping other kids who are in the CPS courts. She also volunteers for Little Angels in Commerce, which makes kids' Christmas wishes come true.
Building relationships is one of her strongest assets. Mrs. Kelley has a way of making sure the students know she cares about them. Her strong relationships allow her to affect virtually every aspect of their lives.
I love hearing stories about Lisa’s lessons! They are always so creative and she truly tries to make them as fun and enjoyable as possible. She loves her job and teaching her students!! She deserves recognition for her efforts!! ????
Lisa is a remarkable person and teacher! She truly lives the mantra of learning should be fun! She exhibits that day in and day out by developing creative activities that engage students so that they understand the function and process of biology. We love her and her big heart!!????
Mrs.Kelley stayed with me class from 6th grade all the way to senior year! When we moved up into high school she did too and I couldn’t have been happier. She takes care of us and makes learning fun. She’s a teacher you and joke around with but she still is able to command the class, which is an excellent balance to have. I appreciate her work teaching us everything from sex Ed. to anatomy and physiology and I’m proud to say that I was taught by Mrs. Kelley!
Lisa is a wonderful positive influence not only to her students but also to her community.
This lady here was one of the main reasons I went to school. She was another mother to me and so many more of my classmates. She cared for us as we were her own and I couldn’t tell you how much that meant to so many of us. Any problems we had wether it was school, life, or just needed somebody to vent to, Mrs. Kelley was always there with open arms when we couldn’t think straight. The love and dedication she puts into each and everyone of her lessons is portrayed every day. I have a million AMAZING things to say about Mrs. Kelley, but i’ll make it short- she is a woman who loves what she does, she cares about every student that has been inside of her class, she has the drive, motivation, and spirit everybody should have and she never fails to make learning enjoyable.
Mrs.Kelley has been my teacher since Freshman year, first in Biology. Second in College Transition my Junior Year.
Throughout these nearly 4 years Mrs.Kelley has constantly checked up on me and our grade. She’s an amazing teacher and although she can be a little “crazy” we drive her that way! She’s an awesome teacher.
Mrs.Kelley has been so amazing to me ever since freshman year. She always helps me with any problem I have whether it involves school or life and I am very great full to have her in my life. She is an amazing teacher and someone to look up to who always has the answers. She takes care of all of the senior events and makes sure we are all happy with the outcome and even though it is stressful she never strays from us.
Mrs.Kelley is an amazing teacher and she has made many positive impacts in my life, not only in the classroom but she has helped me and many other people personally. She has such an amazing connection with students and i’m glad to of had her as a teacher.
she’s always cheers me up on a bad day and genuinely cares to hear what her students say. she’s willing to take up much of her own time to help a student understand a lesson. i’m in A&P so it is a tremendous blessing for her to my teacher. if she wasn’t, i wouldn’t be able to make it through the class.
Mrs.Kelley has been my teacher since my freshman year, I am now a senior. She has always been my favorite teacher. Not only has she been an amazing teacher, but she truly cares for her students like her own kids. She is always helpful and patient, and willing to help her students in whatever way she can. As I move forward in life, although I will miss her, I will always keep her in mind, she has influenced my life in more than just teaching me biology and forensics. She has taught me many life lessons, and she has definitely made a positive impact on my life and affected my decision making. I am beyond great full that I got the opportunity to have Mrs.Kelley as a teacher/mentor.

Mrs Kelley has been my favorite teacher since freshman year. She always makes learning fun and is always wanting to bring new things to the classroom. She works hard and not only cares about getting through the class but making sure she is impacting us in a positive way the whole time.
Mrs. Kelley has been such an amazing influence for not only me but many other students within Lone Oak. She is constantly working to help us as much as she can through school and life in general. I honestly couldn't ask for a better teacher.
Lisa amazes me with the connection that she has with her students. She is almost certain to be of the teachers chosen by our top ten seniors every year. Each of our top ten students nominate the teacher that has meant the most to them throughout their elementary, JH and HS years to be honored by our Lone Oak ISD Education Foundation. Lisa also has won several of the "grants" provided by our Lone Oak Education Foundation because she is always looking for new technology to use in her classes. She is very innovative in her teaching style. She just recently this year at Halloween, turned our science lab into a "bone grave yard" for her classes.
Lisa is always working! She may not be at the school, but every time I see her she planning something for the students. Lisa inspires these kids and she wants them to have all the opportunities. Shes been working on bringing an EMT certificate program to go along with her A/P class. This would be amazing to have at such a small school.
Lisa is a wonderful teacher who truly cares about her students. She goes above and beyond to create engaging lessons with a classroom environment to make them successful. Students in her classes walk away with a wealth of knowledge from her creative teaching style.
Mrs. Kelley is so creative with her teaching activities. She keeps the students engaged and looking forward to the next day. She is compassionate and loves all students.
Mrs. Kelley is the best! I now have a Bachelor’s degree & will soon have my Master’s, and I’m grateful for my time spent in Mrs. Kelley’s classroom. She makes learning engaging & interactive. Evidently, she cares for her students and desires to cultivate in them a greater love for learning.
She does so much hands-on teaching with her students. Everyone wants to be in her class. She is not afraid of being silly, participating in pep rally’s. She also opened a prom dress closet for students who couldn’t afford prom attire. She loved her students and her community

Lisa Kelley has been my 2 boys teacher several times and I can’t say enough good things about her. She makes learning fun and exciting for the kids. She builds relationships with the kids so that they know they can always go to her about anything. She is amazing!!!
Lisa is one of a kind, never a dull moment in her classroom. If you would ask every student who and what is their favorite class, they would say Mrs. Kelley. Lisa goes beyond and above on everything they do in her class, including making learning fun.
All I want to say is, I am 65 years old and I would go back to school in a heartbeat if I could be in her class. She makes learning so much fun for the kids.. amazing teacher!!!
I see Ms. Kelly’s posts from her classes and I want to go back to Highschool to be in this edutainment class!
Most importantly; our family has been helped by Ms. Kelly’s volunteering with Casa; she has had a great impact in the lives of two young boys while they were going through some tough times.
