Karen Herrington was nominated by an anonymous colleague.

Ms. Herrington is vital to her school. As a secretary, she wears multiple hats. She takes care of students' minor health needs in the absence of the nurse, organizes all substitute teachers, proofs notes and paperwork that go home, helps ensure students have everything they need to get through the day, and too many other things too mention. She is truly the glue that holds the school together.

"Karen is caring and compassionate with the students, but can be stern if needed. Our students and staff are so lucky to have her," said her nominator.

Mrs. Herrington is the heartbeat of our school. She helps to keep everything running smoothly in our building and wears many hats. She greets everyone with a smile and is always willing to help out in any situation. She handles everything with such a good attitude and grade. Kennedy is a better school because of her!

I cannot say enough great things about Karen. She is great with the kids and the families at Kennedy. She is always smiling and has a great sense of humor. She wears many hats in her job title and works very hard. There is nothing this woman would not do for her Kennedy family. I am so blessed to have her as a resource at Kennedy,and even more blessed to call this wonderful woman my friend.

Mrs. Herrington is the backbone of Kennedy Elementary School. As our secretary, Mrs. Herrington is given the responsibility of interacting with all students and staff who enter the office of Kennedy Elementary School. She remains calm, polite, positive, respectful, and professional in all scenarios. Mrs. Herrington keeps the day at Kennedy flowing flawlessly, and has an incredible outlook on everything she encounters. Mrs. Herrington is truly the heartbeat of our school!
