Music that Describes Mary

Mary Gish was nominated by her colleague, Tina Clindaniel.

Mrs. Gish has been in education for over 20 years. Although her official job title is media specialist, she is so much more than that. Mrs. Gish strives to create new ways for students to use the library.  After writing several grants, she has acquired technology for classes to experience virtual field trips to the Holocaust Museum and learn about Anne Frank and other historical people and events. She also wrote and received a grant for 3-D printer technology so classes can make mitosis projects and other fantastic creations. Mrs. Gish attends the ICE conference each year and was a presenter at this year's conference.

In addition to using technology and writing grants, Mrs. Gish encourages students to visit the media center.  She hosts after school groups such as 3D Printing for students, Book Battle, Chess Club, Makers Movie, and a Board Game Club.

"Mary loves engaging with her students and is a great asset to the staff at CMS," said Clindaniel.
