Ms. Hurford is a positive asset to CES staff and especially the CES students. She assists students with their social and emotional needs, and she builds strong relationships with students using her kind rapport and compassion to help them succeed. She has developed a calm, quiet atmosphere in the W.I.N. room, which stands for the What I Need room. This is such a positive place for students to go when they are in need of a different, safe setting to de-escalate behaviors.
Ms. Hurford works with many of the most challenging students when they are dis-regulated and helps with returning them to a state of regulation. She has such a positive demeanor with all students, and respects every student at all times. She has established many positive relationships with CES students, and had a positive impact on their school day at CES. Ms. Hurford always has a positive growth mindset with the students and staff. She demonstrates her ethical standards as well as her high expectations for each and every student. Without her positive impact, many CES students would not experience the success needed every day in the classroom.
