Christine Lochner was nominated by a member of the community who wishes to remain anonymous.
Mrs. Lochner has been a part of the Greenville Central School District for many years, and has always demonstrated devotion to the students. She has been the long-time advisor to the middle/high school student council. As the student council advisor, she has taken on a leadership role that has contributed to the school's atmosphere.
"She has instilled a sense of fulfillment in students to do things to not only better the school community, but the worldwide community," her nominator said.
Recently, Mrs. Lochner helped the student council participate in a fundraiser to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Teachers and administrators volunteered to be "stuck" to a wall with duct tape, and students who wished to "stick it to them" could purchase a yard of tape for $1, with all of the proceeds going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Mrs. Lochner asked local businesses to donate duct tape, and the effort was highly successful. The student council surpassed their goal of $1000, raising over $1500.
Teachers were even purchasing tape for students who wished to participate, but did not have money. While Mrs. Lochner will credit all the helpers she had, she was the one at the helm, stretching out and cutting tape for several days, encouraging students and teachers to participate. Mrs. Lochner also made a special effort to ensure that students with disabilites and special needs were able to help and participate as much as they wanted.
She made sure there was space for a student with a wheelchair to place some tape, which brought such joy to his face. Mrs. Lochner always makes sure everyone is included and has fun. She has helped initiate many fundraisers and has taught students to nurture not only their school community but the world.
When Mrs. Lochner helps students with special needs, she assists with her whole heart. It seems effortless how she knows just how to help them, because she takes the time to know them, their needs, who they are and what they care about.
"Anytime I have the chance to speak with Mrs. Lochner, even if it's only for a few minutes, I almost always hear about at least one of the students and how they have brought a smile to her face," her nominator said. "She speaks of them with so much warmth. But when I see her with them, I see the smiles and the joy she brings to them."
Mrs. Lochner provides the support students need, and she does all she can to make sure they feel safe and can participate as fully as any student could. She never hesitates to help, in any situation, even when she is not called upon. When she sees an apparent need, she does all she can to fill it. She has an eye for students who are in need of a little extra encouragement or guidance. It makes all the difference!

Chris Lochner is such a quality, wonderful caring and dedicated person. I have known Chris for the past 20 years, and I have her treat our students with the same respect and kindness as her supervisors. She is so deserving of this recognition.
To start, Chris is an integral part of my class. She helps keep students organized, provides them with extra help, and is willing to give them a dose of "tough love" when necessary. Her work in our school, however, goes way beyond the 4 walls of a classroom. Chris organizes fundraisers and food drives through Student Council that have a huge impact on our small community and has never turned down an opportunity to help someone else. I have had the pleasure of working with Chris as a student and now as a teacher and her desire to help others is contagious. Thank you, Chris, for all of your hard work and dedication!!!
Chris, congratulations on your nomination. You always go the extra mile for our students and our community.
I can't think of anyone more deserving of this award. Chris goes above and beyond everyday. She is always encouraging both students and adults to do and be their very best! She is an inspiration!

Chris,
There is no one else more deserving of this award. You have always looked to help others, you are so generous and kind. I think back to when someone we knew was diagnosed with cancer. Not only did you fund raise and participate in the cancer walk but you brought half the student body of the Greenville district to the walk with you.
You are literally someone that would give a stranger the shirt off your back - even if it was your last shirt.
There is no doubt in my mind that you will win this award.
The world and most certainly the Greenville community is better because of you!
Congratulations your brother and I are very proud of you. Keep up the good work because I know you know every child needs to be loved. Thank You.
Go Aunt Christine!! Amazing!! So well deserved!!
I can’t think of a person more deserving of this award. You have done so much for the school, community and your family over the years. You have Inspired so many young kids over the years including myself. You should be so proud of all the work and dedication you put into everything you do. We are all so proud of you!
There is nothing that Chris wouldn't do for our students! What school wouldn't want an employee like that. I know it sounds silly and she may disagree but I swear...she was born to do this. I worked with her through many a year and I am now retired and she just keeps on going. Some of the projects she comes up with to raise money for various causes amaze me...each one is better than the next. She has the power to make you want to help, to make you want to make a difference and make you feel so good inside when you do. She is a perfect employee for a school district in all the ways that matter...thank you Christine...you deserve this!
Chris always has the students best interest at heart! She is a great role model both in and out of the classroom. With a positive outlook she is always encouraging and leading students to get involved in community service activities. Congratulations Chris! What an amazing honor. Your commitment to your community and dedication to your students is recognized all the way across the state, in Buffalo NY. You are a true life changer and role model. The students at Greenville are very lucky to have you!
I worked with Criss for many years, and was all ways amazed at her commitment and dedication to the students at GCS. She was constantly organizing fund raisers and activities in her capacity as student council advisor, for many, many years. Crisis puts110% in everything she does. I can think of any one more deserving of this recognition.
Congratulations Chris...can’t think of a more deserving person to receive this award.
As a graduate of the Greenville Central School, Class of 2004, I can say that so many fond memories came from my participation in the student council, which Chris Lochner advised. She was always working for the kids to give us the most rewarding high school experience. Now that I work in education, I appreciate it so much more because I know how difficult it can be to make all students feel like they are a part of something, but Mrs. Lochner made it look easy. She is also one of the most compassionate people. She is so deserving of this recognition!
Congratulations Chris! You contribute so much to the lives of our students and Greenville is lucky to have you!
Chris has been one of the most influential people in my academic career. From being her student, to becoming her co worker. I have never met someone quite like her. She has been the greatest role model I could ask for. Thank you for everything you do!! You are truly amazing!! :)
Christine Lochner brings out the best in everyone in the Greenville School community. She has advised the Student Council for many years. She gently guides students to run activities. She has a warm, caring and firm manner. When working with students she encourages them to truly do their best. Her genuine belief in her students helps them strive for greater accomplishments.
She emanates a "you can do" attitude making both the students and school faculty/staff believe in themselves. She is a "doer" consistently organizing events that others might not think possible. She works behind the scenes never seeking attention or praise.
Mrs. Lochner is an exceptional person in our community. She is always thinking and doing for others. It is a pleasure knowing her. She has helped so many in our schools and community.
I had the privilege to work with Chris for many years and am thrilled that she has been nominated for this award. Her genuine love for her students is obvious. As the Student Council Advisor she has been the guiding force behind countless fundraising projects, dances, food bank donations, homecoming events, talent shows, pep rallies...the list goes on and on. Her dedicated service to the students at Greenville Central School is legendary. Every student is special to her and they can tell that she has their best interests at heart. She is "the real deal."
This woman is a life changer, not only has she been with GCS for so long she created relationships with every person she interacted with. Kind, considerate, and always looking out for the students. What a powerful woman. Congrats!
I am the parent of one of the special needs students whom Mrs. Lochner helps, and I agree wholeheartedly! He was able to help with the tape fundraiser, due to her efforts, and it was something he talked about for days! He is not a child who speaks favorably about many adults in authority, yet every time he speaks of Mrs. Lochner, he does so with a smile on his face! And he speaks of her often! She has allowed him to be included in the Student Council, and values his membership, and it has been the highlight of his school year. She absolutely deserves this award, for all that she does for her students, her colleagues, and for the community.
Mrs. Lochner is a wonderful asset to our school. Our children are lucky to have such a dedicated person on their side
Chris Lochner! What a special lady! Our school our community and our families are better having her apart of them all. I have first hand seen her over and over again reach out to help people. She is always looking for people in need and then does something to help them. Chris you more then deserve this award. You have an extremely special sole! Thank you for making this world a better place for everyone.
My dear Mrs. Lochner,
You made high school feel like I was going from one home to another. You were there everyday, you were always warm, welcoming and encouraging. High school is tough for any kid and you always helped me see the bright side and by helping me see that you were also teaching me to always look for it and that has made my life better continually. You are a life changer. You're positive and always driven to help. You not only taught me to look at the bright side but you taught me and many others how easy it is to lend helping hand and how that can make a big difference. You have a remarkable heart. You have given in countless ways over the years and this kind of recognition is long overdue. I am so grateful to you for just being there everyday, for helping with the little things and the huge things. You are an angel and a wonderful role model. I love you dearly. Congratulations.
Congratulations! You are always going above and beyond for your students! You are dedicated, caring and an inspiration to everyone around you! Greenville is lucky to have you!

It is an honor and pleasure to work with Chris. Not only does she exemplify care and concern for her students, but in her work with them through the MS and HS Student Councils she provides a great role model of a person who is committed to giving back to the larger community.
Chris is an inspiration to me and many others. She has done so much for the Greenville community and school. She is constantly thinking of ways to help make our world here at school and town a better place. She includes many different people ,students and adults, to be by her side when she is collecting food for the food pantry, pajamas for toddlers, turkeys for Thanksgiving, walking for cancer awareness, putting on breakfast for Veterans. Law Enforcement. and Firefighters, raising money for sports scholarships, and the many, many other things she does. She does this with great pride and enthusiasm. People want to be part of something bigger than themselves and Chris is our role model. Congratulations Chris!! You are making this world a better place.
I have had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Lochner in my classroom for 7 years. She is a wonderful person who cares deeply about our students and she makes our students feel good about themselves everyday she is here. She has helped make me a better person by reminding me on a daily basis that there is more to an education than a high score on a test.
Chris has done Veterans Day breakfast for our local vets for years involving the students and teaching them about our vets sacrfices for all of us!!! So proud to know her!!
Mrs. Lochner is the heart of our school. She is a teacher and model of selflessness and empathy for students and staff alike. It is incredible to see kids giving back to their community, whether by collecting food for the local food pantry or planning a breakfast for our Veterans. These opportunities help foster a generation of altruistic, empathetic citizens and are thanks to the planning, hard work, and dedication of Mrs. Lochner.
Chris is always enthusiastic and her calming nature can not only focus a student when needed, but also creates an undercurrent of constant caring and sincerity students sense and react to.

What could I possibly add after reading all these wonderful comments?!?! You're an amazing person Chris and without a doubt deserves LifeChanger of the Year!!!
All of the above comments from Mrs. Lochner's profile are so true! She should also be commended for reaching out through email to school staff many times a year, with opportunities to purchase Spartan t-shirts, sweatshirts, bags, ponchos, hats, umbrellas--you name it! She is very big on school spirit. How wonderful, and contagious! I'm happy she has been recognized for all of her goodness! Bravo!
Chris is an indispensable resource for both our staff and students! Helping is her nature, and I don't know where our kids would be without her. She always gives 110%. There's no one like her!
We are so lucky to have Chris at GCS. In addition to helping so many students academically, she teaches our students the importance of service. She is a great role model and is the first one to organize fundraisers for those in need. She is also involved in coordinating celebrations to honor people who have dedicated their lives to helping others. She brings our school community together by facilitating events that celebrate school spirit. I feel lucky to work with such an inspirational person. She is definitely a life changer.
Mrs. Lochner is awesome and deserves this and so much more.
She is dedicated to GCS and the community. Chris gives 110% during her work day working in a special needs classroom. She is also the MS and HS Student Council advisor. She does great things through the year for the students involved in the clubs and the community. Through student council Mrs. Lochner helps coordinate the pep rally's, holds breakfasts to honor our local law enforcement and veterans , coordinates food collection and toy and pajama drives for our local community during the holiday season, comes up with fun activities to raise money and awareness for many good causes, and so much more. You can also find Mrs. Lochner chaperoning at many after school sport activities and she never misses a home basketball game! When she's not at school she is with her family. Helping out, watching the grand kids and attending their sporting events.

The world needs more people like Chris! Thank you for teaching and spreading kindness.
I was thrilled when I heard Chris was nominated for LifeChanger of the Year as she truly has changed so many lives. We'll never know how many, and that is just the point. Year after year Chris works with the students and gets to know them as individuals. This personal attention in a non academic setting is just what some kids need. Getting the kids involved in service to others and their community teaches them life lessons that are just as important as their studies. You won't find anyone more dedicated over the past 20+ years to the students of Greenville High School.
I am very proud to work with Chris. She goes above and beyond to help the community and students in Greenville.
There is no question that Chris Locher is very deserving of this recognition. I cannot think of a time when Chris hasn't gone above and beyond for our kids, or members of the community. As a parent of 2 former student council students Mrs. Lochner's name came up often in our household. My sons always were excited to participate in the fundraising activities that she organized. They enjoyed the pajama/toy drive, going to the Ronald McDonald house, decorating a tree at Christmas time and so much more! It is an honor to say that both continue to engage in community service beyond graduation. Thank you!
Way to go! You are an asset to GCS and it is a pleasure to call you my friend.
Chris is more that qualified to earn this award. She gives so much of herself to the school and community. It will be a big loss to all when Chris retires from GCS. I wholeheartedly agree with this nomination??
I cannot say enough about this great Lady!! Chris Lochner rocks!! If there is a need, She is always there to help and get things done...from honoring our Veterans and Police Officers/first responders with a special breakfast, to our yearly pajama and toy drive for children in need--- she instills the spirit of community service in all our students.
