Mr. Day is a great asset to his district. He teaches physical education for two elementary schools, and he's also a coach. He shows great patience with his students. While teaching the students different physical activities, Mr. Day also incorporates many educational aspects. He might count with students in Spanish, teach new phrases, define different terms, etc. When students have behavioral issues, Mr. Day shows them patience and kindness. He works hard to give them several chances to calm themselves and make good choices so they can join back in with their group. While coaching, Mr. Day teaches the kids about the importance of nutrition and how to take care of their bodies. They are learning life-long, healthy habits!
Mr. Day is a wonderful Teacher. He is not only a P.E. teacher he also finds ways to incorporate core curriculum into his class. He does this during stretches and warmups. He does an amazing job of motivating the students to participate in class and carry over what they have learned to help them be healthy and make smart life choices. Our students are so lucky to have him.
Mr. Day is an awesome PE teacher! He is innovative always coming up with new ideas and ways to teach our diverse kids. His class is structured, active, and fun. We have many students who have difficult behaviors and Mr. Day does a fantastic job with them, making great connections & building relationships with them. He is a great asset to Kennedy!

What a great nominee! Any time I walk by P.E. on my way to the office or watch as my kids are finishing, I can't help but smile. We are lucky to have a P.E. teacher who truly cares about kids, makes class fun, and teaches essential life skills.
