LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Samuel Jackson was nominated by his principal, Anita Barnes.

Coach Jackson believes in all of his students. He encourages and expects all students to put forth their best effort to achieve excellence. In the two years Coach Jackson has been at Harrell Budd Elementary, he has transformed the athletics programs to include several teams, sports leagues, and gym lessons that include best teaching practices in every phase of the lesson cycle. Under the leadership of Coach Jackson, Harrell Budd Elementary now has a soccer and track team that participates in a league he created. Budd also has a Sports Banquet, which is an annual event to recognize students' effort and participation in athletics throughout the year.
