Clare VanDusen was nominated by Crystal Moore, the parent of a student.
"This is Clare's first year teaching, but it seems she has been doing it forever," said Moore. "Every year, I get nervous about who our daughter gets because we are not from this area, so we don't know any of the teachers. Clare has welcomed her students into her class like she has known them forever. The positivity and smile she always carries is so welcoming and heartwarming. She's not only a teacher at school, but she also goes to the kids' sports games outside of school to cheer them on. She came to our daughter's soccer game, and our daughter felt so special that Miss VanDusen took time out of her Saturday morning to come see her play. We love her so much and believe she should be recognized for how much of a giver she is!"
Being her classmate at MNU for the past couple of years, I’ve always admired the amount of passion Clare has for the teaching field. She’s extremely selfless and never thinks twice about extending her knowledge and skills to those around her. Clare truly deserves this award, because she is the epitome of an effective and impactful educator. She puts so much time, effort, and LOVE into her lessons. Her students are so extremely lucky to have her as their teacher! I can’t wait to see what other big things Clare will accomplish in the years to come!

Clare is an incredible human being! She’s goes to great lengths to show people how much she cares about them. She is genuine, kind, patient, and passionate especially with her students. Clare was one of my first teachers. Being her younger sister, she started teaching me things from the first day I was brought home. Clare deserves this award because her hearts in it everyday. She not only teachers because it’s her job, she teachers because it’s her passion! I vote for Clare this year, next year and the year after that! Congrats on the nomination sister ??
Clare is the most genuine person I know. She loves her students and even those who are not in her classroom. She is a life changer to more than just her students. She is a friend to everyone and is an amazing person. No one is more deserving than Clare!
