Music that Describes Janet

Janet Whisenhunt was nominated by her principal, Clint Corby.

Mrs. Whisenhunt is an incredible human being.  Her positivity is unbelievable.  When you walk into the Media Center, you feel welcomed and loved.  She has the ability to make you feel like you are the only person on the planet when she talks to you.  No matter what's going on, she always makes time for you.

The activities she makes available for her students are amazing.  She prepares breakout boxes, escape rooms, student presentations, student debates, and a number of activities that can't be described in words!

"When I introduce Janet to people who come for tours, I always say that I wake up every day and strive to be Janet Whisenhunt.  They always laugh, but I absolutely mean that," said Corby. "When asked about their favorite teachers, students will always say Mrs. Whisenhunt.  There is a saying that goes 'students don't care about what you know until they know how much you care.' Students care what Mrs. Whisenhunt thinks because they know she loves them. If our world had more Mrs. Whisenhunts, we would all live in a better place."

Janet is the best! She's an amazing advocate and friend to all of the students. In such a fun and loving way she pushes them towards excellence. Her love and joy extend well beyond the library. The school is deeply blessed by her presence.

Janet is the most loving, creative, and joyful person I know! Her generosity and kindness are infectious and you can’t help but pass along her joyful attitude to others after spending time with her. It only takes seconds and then your day is made 100% better. She’s more than a librarian; she’s a friend, mentor, and teacher. A wonderful woman who is certainly most deserving of this recognition!

Mrs. Whisenhunt is THE BEST PERSON!!! She is the most creative person I know, and she puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Whenever it's somebody's birthday she gathers everyone in the library and we all stand around that person and sing happy birthday to them AND while we are singing we have are arms linked and do a kick line. It's soooo much fun. Whenever I walk into the library I just feel at home. The library is such a warm and cozy place. If you walk into the library in a bad mood or if it's just been a bad day, Mrs. Whisenhunt turns your day around and you'll walk out of the library in a good mood. She also supports EVERY SINGLE STUDENT. If you have an idea for the library (like a giant chess board) she says great let's do it! And then it happens! When I was in 7th grade a couple of friends and made a little video for the library. After that we asked if we could make more and Mrs. Whisenhunts response was YES! Over the past year and a half we have made videos for the library, and it has been so much fun! I’m so grateful that I have been blessed to have Mrs. Whisenhunt in my life, and I want to be just like her when I’m older!

Mrs. Whisenhunt is an incredible librarian, teacher, and person. She always has a smile on her face and she is always willing to help. She has made many things possible that Hillsboro wouldn't have been able to do before her role as a librarian. Not only does she have the kindest of hearts but she is knowledgeable in the book world plus she absolutely loves helping you find the book that suites what you enjoy... I'm sure of it! Her heart is full of energy, love, and spirit. Her energy radiates through the library... actually the whole school! I'm not sure you could walk past her with little to no energy and continue walking without taking at least some of the positive energy she caries. Her loving heart shows in everything she does, she's always gonna make sure everyone can be involved and she does it with so much compassion. Her spirit is just well... it's incredible, I've never seen anyone who loves the school and each and every person in the school like Mrs. Whisenhunt does! She is willing to do anything and everything to make HMHS a more inviting place to be. She will do everything she can to make sure you know you are loved, welcomed, wanted, needed, important, special... I mean the list goes on and on... she is truly the best!

“Everybody, always” comes to mind when I think of Mrs. Whisenhunts’s approach to students, learning, and community. She is the essence of inclusion and sees to it that everyone is at home with her. There is no doubt that anyone who comes through the doors of her high school is changed because Mrs. Whisenhunt lets you know that your presence matters.

Janet is someone I think we all aspire to be more like. She is positive, contagious, hard-working, creative, passionate, genuine and loving. She wants to make the world a better place for everyone she comes in contact with. She makes our library a place everyone wants to be and brings more excitement to reading and learning. She continually comes up with new ideas to include more student body in a positive learning experience and to create an environment as conducive to that as possible. Real learning happens when we have positive relationships with our kids, and she understands and practices that like no other!

Janet Whisenhunt is an incredible human being. I wish I could include pictures in this comment, because they would speak much more clearly about her creative contributions to our school. She Is full of creative and interesting ideas, and has the courage and energy to carry them out. When she makes a mistake or things don't work quite like she expected, she stays positive, laughs, and adapts. It's a great example to students! Janet also creates a warm, welcoming, and fun atmosphere in the library. While there are several high school students in there for online classes during the day, others filter in and out to check out books, use the Maker Space, play chess, and more. Students and staff want to come to the library, or even simply walk through on their way to other classes. Simply walking in the library, anyone can feel seen, valued, and encouraged by Janet. When it comes to the official parts of her job, Janet goes above and beyond. She is excited about books, and encourages students to read. She makes great recommendations, from fun fantasy stories to realistic fiction or nonfiction that open people's eyes to real situations in the world. I have also seen Janet provide incredible support to teachers with their classroom curriculum and projects. Whether it's assisting in student research, enhancing classroom lessons with breakout boxes, or finding a variety of multimedia resources for teachers to use, Janet provides excellent support to her coworkers. As others have said in their comments, Janet Whisenhunt carries deep joy that makes her a bundle of sunshine in anyone's day. Her impact on others, including those who feel unseen or forgotten, is long lasting. I have yet to meet someone who knows her and doesn't speak highly of her. Perhaps the most important thing to know about Janet is that above all, she loves others (staff, students, friends, and family) well!

I am writing from the perspective of a mom and a substitute teacher. Mrs. Whisenhunt is such a joy! Going into the library is always a treat because it is such a positive place. She has made much more out of her job than is required, and it's obvious she loves her work and her students. My kids love to tell my husband and me about Mrs. Whisenhunt's latest burst of creativity--taco trucks that reflect books and their cultures, a giant chess game, droids, documentaries on wheels, escape rooms. We also appreciate her ability to see beyond problems--my kids are amazed that she was so excited to get a new phone after dropping hers in the toilet! As a parent, I love that she is a lifelong learner. She is passionate about books and stays current with world events and technology. The library has become the hub of the school--a learning environment where all are welcome and noticed. I have also seen how she works behind the scene to offer encouragement, continually letting us all know that we're capable of doing great things. As a substitute teacher, I've only heard one "criticism" of Mrs. Whisenhunt, and it went something like this: "You know how you sometimes are just in a bad mood and want to stay in a bad mood? Well, I have a class in the library, so I see Mrs. Whisenhunt, and now I can't stay in a bad mood!"

Mrs. Whisenhunt is one of the best people ever. She is so kind and generous with her time. She always makes me laugh and can always put a smile on my face even if I'm having the worst day ever. I have never met anyone who is as happy and content with life as she is. I love the advice she gives and all her jokes! She is so encouraging for me whenever I want to try something new, too. She impacts every person who walks into the library and makes everyone feel special. She is such an inspiration to me and has made a huge impact on my life. Thank you, Mrs. Whisenhunt!

Caleb Rempel Posted over a year ago

Mrs. Whisenhunt is the happiest person I have ever met. That is not an exaggeration. Even on bad or crazy days, she puts on a smile while making it her mission to spread that smile. One of my favorite Mrs. Whisenhunt moments started when I made and threw a paper airplane in the library (something that is usually frowned upon). Instead of taking it away, she ran back into the resource room. When she returned she had the largest roll of shiny maroon paper I had ever seen. Some friends and I spent the next two days making huge paper airplanes, and Mrs. Whisenhunt helped us hang them in the library as decorations. She never failed to make me smile. Another thing she did was talk with me about my devotions and offer prayer for me. Even if you do not believe in Jesus, you can at least she how much cared about each individual student. I am forever thankful for the influence Mrs. Whisenhunt has had on my life

She is the best librarian ever. She always has projects for you to go do. My favorite project was getting to make food trucks and sell foods. She also makes multiple escape rooms a year for everyone to do in LS if they want to. She is also very nice and helpful too. If you need help finding a book she will always be there.

Janet has a way to make you feel special! She has shown my girls what a truly caring educator does without all the publicity and glamor. I don’t believe my daughters—teachers now— would be as good as what they are now if she had not come into their lives and made a lasting impression on them. She helped one daughter land her dream job and the other learn to love and enjoy reading in a book club and a trip of a lifetime! You can’t help but smile and be happy around her! She is the cream of the crop! She helps kids in all aspects of their life not just in the media room! I wish/strive to be like her! She is just special!

It is difficult to sum up all that Janet Whisenhunt does for our school or all that she means to each person that she comes in contact with. Janet is supportive to both students and staff. She is always ready to lend a helping hand when needed and goes far above and beyond her job expectations. She has made our Media Center a welcoming place for all and one to be envied by others. The most engaging and welcoming part of the library is Janet herself. She greets everyone with a smile and a kind word. She lends a listening ear when needed and encourages all student to succeed and to be their best.

Mrs. Whisenhunt is the best librarian ever!! She will always have a smile on her face, and will help you out with anything you need. She has helped me out so much with finding the perfect books, and she always has the best activities to do in the library. She is such a caring person towards everyone, and is such a fun person to be around!

Nora Hein Posted over a year ago

Even though I've only known Mrs. Whisenhunt for a few months, I feel like I've known her for my whole life the way she treats me. Any other librarian I have ever had didn't have fun stuff, like escape rooms, breakout boxes, Maker Space, or even chess. She always makes you feel like you belong in the library. Mrs. Whisenhunt can find the perfect book for you, and it will be one of the best books you have ever read, it's like she can feel what you are going through. Really, she makes me want to go to the library, and when I am there, I feel like I am in a place that doesn't exist. Mrs. Whisenhunt always has a smile on her face, even on Mondays!

Daisy Klein Posted over a year ago

Mrs. Whisenhunt was the best Wednesday Night teacher I have ever had. I’m looking forward to having her as a librarian next year. In Wednesday Night, she was fun, gave us a pizza party, participated in crafts, and was always smiling.

Violet Klein Posted over a year ago

Mrs. Whisenhunt is the best librarian our school has ever had. She is always there to welcome people into our library with a smile. The library has become a place where lots of people come to work on homework, participate in one of Mrs. Whisenhunt’s new, fun projects, learn a new game, check out a book, or visit with our awesome librarian! She always has an idea of a new book for me, and I have loved every single one that she has recommended. Not only does she have good book advice, but she also knows how to make a library a fun place for middle and high schoolers. I’m pretty sure her days have more hours in them than the rest of us, because she gets more done in a day than anyone I know! She reaches out to all of the kids in the school, and knows all of our names. She can even reach kids not many other people can! She is the best librarian I have ever had!

Millie Sechrist Posted over a year ago

I have been putting off writing this because it is nearly impossible for me to put into words how impactful Mrs. Whisenhunt has been. She is such a blessing to our school. She truly lights up the library with her joy, positivity, and passion. She does everything big and never goes halfway! She takes everything past what people expect and is constantly coming up with new ideas on how to encourage learning and growth in our school. She works hard to meet the student's needs through school but also takes the time to talk about life and learn about them and love them. She makes each student feel so special and so loved. I spend the majority of my day in the library so I get to spend a lot of time with Mrs. Whisenhunt, she has taught me to work hard but also take time to enjoy life and the people you are with. On some days she will call everyone together for a "family picture" or we will sing Happy Birthday to someone (with a kick line of course), or we will have a ceremony to celebrate a senior who has made a college decision. These may seem like small things to everyone else but to Mrs. Whisenhunt, they are a big deal and she makes sure that the honored student sees how special they are. Some days it is easy to let my to-do list overtake me but Mrs. Whisenhunt reminds me to just pause and see the beauty of life and where we are. It is such a blessing to know Mrs. Whisenhunt, I could go on and on about all the amazing things she has done for our school, but if I had to think of one word to describe it would be passion. She is so passionate about everything she does and works hard to make Hillsboro Middle High School the best place it can be. When I grow up I want to be like Mrs. Whisenhunt!!!

Lilliaunna Johnson Posted over a year ago

She creates happiness for the students at HHS and HMS. She brings others up when they are down. She helps find lost books for children. She does an amazing job at finding the most intriguing activities in the world for me and other students. Mrs. Whisenhunt is the best librarian you could ever imagine. Not only is she a librarian, but she is an amazing citizen of Hillsboro. The things I see that she does to others to make them have a good and wonderful life, it's beautiful. she is the detective for finding someones lost soul. She helps whoever is in line. She's the most amazing person I have ever met in my life.

Mrs. Whisenhunt is the highlight of my school day. I get to be her library aide for one of my classes, and I enjoy that time so much! I have learned so much from Mrs. Whisenhunt. She has taught me how to show grace, how to include others, and how to be flexible. Mrs. Whisenhunt is very fun to be around and I appreciate everything she does for our school. She is a great example of how to be a servant-leader. She also makes sure there is something in the WMC for everyone. From chess to Stranger Things escape rooms to the Maker Space, you cannot be bored in the WMC. However, the best part of the WMC is Mrs. Whisenhunt. She walks into school every day with a positive attitude and a plan to extend grace and love to all of the students she sees throughout the school day. Mrs. Whisenhunt also does a lot of things that go unnoticed. Mrs. Whisenhunt is very proactive and hands-on with the chess team, and she conducts concessions stands for middle school games. Additionally, she sees a huge percentage of HHS students every day and makes sure that they are on task and ready to learn. Part of our school's mission statement talks about creating students that love to learn. This is so true when it comes to Mrs. Whisenhunt. She promotes learning as a way to be connected to the world and to make a difference. Mrs. Whisenhunt is also the most flexible thinker I can name. She can make an event come together successfully in a day (I've seen it before). All this being said, Mrs. Whisenhunt deserves this award most because she emphasises kindness. Mrs. Whisenhunt's heart is for the students, and she is someone that will have your back, even after you graduate. I am so blessed to know Mrs. Whisenhunt, and even more blessed to be her aide.

Mrs. Whisenhunt is the best EVER!! She has helped all my idea come to life! One time I was trying to raise money to build a well in South Sudan and I emailed her and another teacher and from the very beginning she was all in! She was one of the main reasons we raised so much money! She helped make posters, videos, set up interviews, and she spread the word to everyone!! That is just one of the things she has done and trust me there are soooooo much more!!! If you are ever feeling down Mrs. Whisenhunt is the person to go to! She always has a smile on her face and is the first one to ask how your are doing! She helps everyone have an AMAZING day no matter what! She has helped many people no matter how big or small their ideas are! I can't imagine our school without her!

Overall, high school hasn't been easy for me because of all of the stress that comes with difficult classes and homework. However, as soon as I walk into the library for my online classes everyday, and see Mrs. Whisenhunt, my entire mood and perspective on life changes. She can turn the worst days into one of the best because of the way she encourages others and strives students to do their best. She's the kind of person who will light up any room she walks into and immediately wants to know how you are doing. Being in the library with Mrs. Whisenhunt is by far my favorite time of the day, and she has made our library into a fun, stress-free environment. I'm so happy and thankful for her being at our school :)

I recently had double knee surgery, and had to be in the library for all my classes. Although I had to be stationary, Mrs. Whisenhunt made everyday unique, and was super supportive. She went out of her way to set up comfortable places for me to sit, and she would checkup on me to see if she could do anything for me. Though sitting in the library all day might sound boring, Mrs. Whisenhunt's support and creativity made it fun!

Mrs. Whisenhunt is the BEST librarian in world she can make anyone smile even if they are having a bad day. Although I have been out of high school for several years now, Mrs. Whisenhunt still continues to inspire me to this day. While I was in high school, she organized a book club. Although that in itself was going above her call of duty, she took it upon herself to organize a trip to NYC for the senior members. That is a major deal for kids from small town KS! She planned the itenerary, facilitated fundraisers, and was our personal tour guide. Now that I am out of school and a teacher myself, I am in awe of how much energy she puts forth each day. I don’t know how she can always have a smile on her face and a pep in her step! I am inspired and encouraged by all of the new ideas she takes to the library. Even though I teach a couple hours away, she still takes the time to help me with ideas. Every time I get to see her in person, it’s like we just saw each other the day before. She is one of the most humble people I know, as well as one of the most empathetic. You can’t have a bad day around her, because she will find a way to make anything better.

What do you say about the most amazing, kind, beautiful, and generous person? It’s hard. Mrs. Whisenhunt was, and still is, one of my favorite people. Besides recommending amazing books and creating some of the best clubs in Hillsboro (Intelligence squared represent!) she also helped me out of so many pickles. She made me feel important when it felt like everyone was against me. She helped me discover things about myself, she made me a better person. Every school deserves a Mrs. Whisenhunt....or two, or three. He’s creativity, her compassion, her wit and overall love for her students is what makes her an amazing educator, friend, and person.

There is not a more deserving person for this award than Mrs. Whisenhunt. Her positive attitude is contagious and the atmosphere she has created in the library is unmatched. Students love going in there, which I believe is a true testament to her!

You don't find many people like Mrs. Whisenhunt. She is, quite literally, a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. I don't know how I would ever get through a day without her. She is so involved with school events and puts her whole heart into everything she does. Even though she's technically a librarian, I learn something new from her, just like a teacher, every day. She keeps us crazy teenagers up to date with national and international affairs and, occasionally, starts a new holiday or tradition, like "Turtleneck-Friday's". She makes huge celebrations out of little student achievements, like when we have "Adulting 101" button ceremonies with everyone in the library for a senior who just applied to college. There are not many people like Mrs. Whisenhunt, but there should be.

Janet has the best loving smile. She will do anything for students and strives for them to be their best. She wants to see all succeed. She is not just a librarian she is so much more. She loves kids where they are at and is always trying to find ways to connect with kids and help from learn. She is a positive adults in many students lives. If a student has an idea she is willing to work hard to make that idea a reality. She is such a bright person in our school.

She does lots and lots to get us into reading, she organizes all kinds of things, like a pretend book-discovery picnic in new york city and even once turned half of the library into a movie theatre so we could watch a movie by the creative writing class! She also orders all kinds of new modern and different types of books and author videochats. She also started a project for students to create a stranger-things escape room in our library!

Janet is a special person indeed. She continuously introducing new ideas into the media center to make it a place where students and adults want to come visit. That might include new technologies for students and teachers to use or new games that keep students engaged. There are usually chess boards placed around with matches going on. There is currently a life-size chess board so students can play or learn how to play chess. Last spring she worked with the art teacher and a social studies teacher to create food trucks from the places that had been studied in social studies class. Janet has organized school-wide dodge ball tournaments, author talks, and video conferences with field experts. This past Veteran's Day, she organized Lunch with a Hero where middle school students could come listen to soldier talk. He brought hands on activities for the students to try. While Janet organizes many educational opportunities for students, her best quality is that she genuinely cares for each individual here at school. Her smile helps everyone's day be a little brighter.

Whenever I talk to Ms. Wisenhunt I feel like I'm talking to my best friend. You never know what new adventure she will have for that day. I was excited to come back to school this year just so I could hang out with ms. Wisenhunt. When she comes to talk to me and my friends it is so entertaining she acts like (and is) just one of the girls and always manages to make me laugh and/or smile. She makes learning fun and entertaining with her breakout boxes always the funnest day in history class. she can name almost every student by name and knows things about every single one that will let them know that someone cares. She want everyone to be involved and will encourage someone to do anything they want even if they are scared. she will do her best to help out a student, if they have an idea that they want to pursue she will do ANYTHING she can to help them out and get them to their goal. She has changed my life because she made me realize that there is always room to be kind and there are no dreams to small and to always look on the bright side of life because there is always something worth smiling about. She is the most enthusiastic person you will ever meet and you can get her excited about anything but be careful because she will push out of your comfort zone and you will do it because she makes you believe that you can do it and that your the most qualified person for that task. She wants you to help and do things around the media center and wants it to be a place just to hang out but if you have homework to do then she will MAKE SURE you get that done before helping her. She gets so excited when there is a chance to display artwork or presentations that students have done because the student may have just done it for a grade but to her it is the Mona Lisa and deserves a golden pedestal. Out of everyone in the school Ms. Wisenhunt is the person that I would most want to talk to about something going on in my life or something I need to talk through. If it's your birthday she will make it the biggest deal ever she will get everyone in the media center to sing you happy birthday. she tries to make equal opportunities for everyone and make everyone valued and important. She isn't afraid to talk about current events or things on TV, she treats you like an equal not a child. she isn't afraid to talk about Jesus Christ with the students who want to but will respect you if you don't want to hear it, and we are lucky enough to go to a school where that is allowed. She is the most courageous person I know she isn't afraid to stand miles apart form everyone else if she feels strongly enough about it and that is one of the most impacting things about her. She loves to try new things and that shows when it comes to the media center it is not surprising to walk in and see everything in a different place and the next day it has changed again not to mention her incredible artistic ability. She is the most deserving person for this award because of the light she brings to the world!!!!!!!.

Mrs. Whisenhunt is the best librarian, teacher, friend, and mentor I could ask for. She strives every day to make the media center welcoming, comfortable, and fun for the students, and she never fails to ask us of our opinions. Having two online classes in the library is the best part of my day, and I especially look forward to Wednesdays when I get to have a full 3 hours in the library. Mrs. Whisenhunt understands the importance of getting our work done well and on time, yet can tell when we need a brain break and will come over and chat with my friends and I about life. Even in her fashion sense, you can tell when you walk in the room that she is fearless, confident, passionate, and wonderful. She loves participating in Spirit Week with the students and always dresses for the occasion- Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, Easter... she dresses up for it all and if nothing else, brightens students' days! Mrs. Whisenhunt loves supporting the athletics and art departments and personally congratulates whoever has excelled or improved. She loves supporting the chess team as well, and has even built a life-size chess board (complete with pieces) to teach the middle schoolers how to play- while making it INCREDIBLY fun! She likes discussing current events with us as we watch the news on the TV's in the media center, and whenever something bad happens worldwide, she reminds us to have a positive attitude and not lose heart because we know that everything will turn out alright when Jesus comes again or when we pass away and join Him in heaven- whichever comes first. She is so encouraging. Mrs. Whisenhunt especially loves encouraging and supporting the special education students. She started a cafe & snack shop in the back of the media center solely for the purpose of teaching some sweet special education students life skills such as counting money, counting back change, customer service, among many other skills. I know that this has been a HUGE blessing to those students and their families, and on people like me who appreciate the opportunity to buy snacks during class while supporting the special education student waitress! Another people group that she has a heart for are the underappreciated artists and people of other underappreciated talents. She loves commissioning students to create a piece of art to display in the media center because she knows that it is a huge encouragement to those who may not get opportunities to showcase their art. She's even purchased art from students to display in her own home! I can't imagine a higher honor than having Mrs. Whisenhunt praise and purchase a homemade creation of mine, because of how respected she is among the students and staff of Hillsboro High. Mrs. Whisenhunt is FULL of contagious energy and joy. My friends and I truly aspire to someday have such a lasting impact on people like she has had on us. She loves to give us life advice that she's learned from her own past, and she relates our successes and good times to hers when she was in high school. We love her, and she loves us. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful woman, and I have been SO blessed to have her as a mentor and librarian the past two years. Without Mrs. Whisenhunt, our school would lose its passion, its joy, and its energy. We know that Mrs. Whisenhunt loves us because she doesn't only talk to us about school-related things like some teachers do. She'll often show us photographs on a Monday morning of her weekend's fishing trip, and when she comes back after a vacation she'll show us photographs and tell us stories from her travels and of her adorable grandkids. She also discusses church matters with students that go to the same church as her, and she loves to organize healthy debates about theological and moral differences between people. Not only does Mrs. Whisenhunt connect with my friends and I, she also befriends students and faculty of a wide variety of backgrounds, races, talents, religions, athletic & academic skill levels, genders, and they ALL feel the same crazy love radiating from her. Like I said before, we LOVE Mrs. Whisenhunt and she LOVES us.

This year I'm taking Spanish 1. I checked my schedule and learned I had it first hour which was not when all of my friends had it. I was really upset about it until I realized everyday I wake up and go to school and the first person I see and get to talk to is Mrs. W. She makes my bad mornings turn good in a heartbeat. She organizes special events to promote kindness and love around the school. She does SO many things to help a single student to all the students in the school. The bottom line is Mrs. W is one of the most amazing people I've met and people should truly try to be more like her everyday.

There’s not a person who deserves this award than Mrs. Whisenhunt! It’s been awhile since I’ve been in high school, but I know I could still walk into her library and pick up right where we left off! Who else can say that their teacher spent the time to plan an entire trip to NYC for her book club students to go on after graduation. :)

She's there for absolutly anyone that walks into the Weibe Media Center and will truly listen to you when you need to vent about frustrating situations. She creats a healthy and relaxing environment for the students at Hillsboro High School to excell in school and get away from the stress of the classroom. Janet is amazing. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t stop in to see her. She loves everyone! I am a teacher and students beg to go to the library. What an awesome thing for our school! My daughter also looks up to Janet, and says, I want to be just like her. She has made a huge impact on our school. Lastly, a few years ago Janet lead a book club, which lead them to NYC. I was fortunate to be able to travel with them. Janet helped them with fundraising and was like a personal tour guide as we viewed the city. New York City library was one of many stops. Janet is the BEST! No one deserves this award but her!

Mrs.Whisenhunt is the best at making everyone get involved and smiling at everyone when they walk into the library. She makes a library a fun place to go and do online classes. She is the best librarian this school could ask for and we are all very lucky to have her. the best part about her is that she tries to get everyone involved with doing breakout boxes, life-size chess, and many other things. I think she is the best and makes everyone happy.

When I think of Janet, I think of an extremely creative, humble life giver. She is passionate about living out her faith in loving and fun ways with the atmosphere she creates in the Wiebe Media Center and her personal encounters with the students who come to that space. She is concerned about reaching hearts of the students and it helps she has the "cool" factor!! Additionally she is inclusive with the whole school community with activities that promote being kind. I think she is amazing!

Though grossly underpaid as a paraprofessional, Janet is perhaps the most visible and enthusiastic person on campus. She is always positive and lends a listening ear to everyone, whether student or staff member. She never complains and is always ready to add another task to her long list. She is a most valuable member of our team.

She is extremely dedicated to providing a place of learning, enrichment, and encouragement for all students. Her love for life is contagious. Not only for her co-workers but also for the students that she influences. She has given students so many different opportunities to learn and engage in life through her work in the media center. She is constantly looking to impart encouragement, love, and hope to everyone she interacts with at school! Janet is a gift to many!
