Anne Jacobs was nominated by her assistant principal, Gilbert Still.

Mrs. Jacobs is an astounding colleague in her building. She is not only a counselor, but in the view and opinion of her colleagues and students, she is a LifeChanger. Mrs. Jacobs is an educator who does right by kids and is a positive influence in their lives.

When a student or colleague walks into Mrs. Jacobs' office, they know they are respected, loved, and important to her. When students come to her with concerns or issues, she is patient and kind, and she assists them in any way she can. If a student is struggling with anything at school, home or with themselves, she provides the resources they need.

"I believe with all my heart that every student who enters and exits her office feels valued," said Still. "She has a natural ability to connect with students, even though she doesn't have the opportunity to see them every day."

Mrs. Jacobs does an excellent job at providing professional development to teachers so they can assist students to the best of their abilities. She does this with such ease, even if it stresses her out. Mrs. Jacobs has a bubbly, fun personality that is contagious. Everyone on the staff enjoys and appreciates everything she does for her building and students. Being the lone counselor this year has been stressful at times for her, but she has excelled. She is humble and always tells everyone how appreciative she is of them.

"I believe Anne is a LifeChanger for many students and adults," said Still. "We are so proud and lucky we get to work alongside her at Dodge City Middle School!"

Anne you do such a great job! This year has been tough and you have managed to do it all, always with a smile on your face! Thanks for everything you do for our school.

Anne has taken on two jobs this year. This is the first year she has done scheduling and she has done a great job. We lost our second counselor at the start of school. Anne has had to be two people this year. She checks on kids and is always there for them. When she in meets fellow staff in the hall, she is always positive even though she may have had a rough day.

As a mother of a former DCMS student, I know Anne is very deserving of this award! We have never been presented with such a professional and caring individual in the school system. She has always been very welcoming and you can tell she is extremely dedicated to her career and life!

As Anne’s father-in-law I can’t testify to Anne’s professional performance, but I can say that none of the positive comments I read here come as a surprise. Anne has been a blessing to us every day since she has walked into our lives. She is such a positive influence to all that come in contact with her and it certainly is in her DNA to help students and colleagues above and beyond what is called for. Congratulations Anne...you are awesome.

Anne Jacobs is very deserving of this nomination. She has dedicated many years to USD 443 but specifically her students. Being able to make every individual she encounters feel important is something that makes Anne unique and perfect for the role of counselor at the middle level. Students need to feel they matter and she makes sure they do!

Anne is so deserving of this LifeChanger recognition. I have known Anne for over thirty-five years and can tell you she has always been the kind of person you feel lucky to say, you know. She is the most genuinely positive person you could ever meet. I've never known her to have a bad day, and if you are having one, her bubbly personality will have you laughing in no time. She is such a fantastic role model for students and adults.
