David Branscom is a great leader & role model for the students at Brandeis High School. He cares about them on and off the field. Coach Branscom leads by example. He is ALL IN!
I had the privilege of being coached by coach Branscom while attending UMHB. From the day I stepped foot on campus until the day I graduated he never accepted anything less than my very best whether that be in regards to the classroom, football field or who I was as a person. He helped mold me into the man I am today and I will always be grateful for the effort and energy he put into pushing me to be my best.
After graduating school I had the opportunity of working alongside coach Branscom as a member of the Crusader Football Alumni Association. He was the executive director at the time and a monumental reason behind the success that association currently enjoys. His passion for progress of the alumni association and creating an entity that would be capable of giving back the UMHB football program was inspirational.
I am very privileged to call coach B a mentor and friend.
Coach Branscomb has been one of the biggest motivators and role models I’ve known. He goes far beyond being just a staff member in many cases he has become a parent, a friend a motivator and a crucial part in the lives of many kids! More often than not, hell take his personal time to go above and beyond to make sure the students are taken care of in moments of hardship. He legitimately cares for each one of the kids that surround him! Above all costs he makes sure that the students are being set up for success and follows through with it!!
I’ve personally seen him interact and care for students from the classroom to the field and even outside school!
Inadvertently he has become the dad many kids don’t have but find in him!
Coach Branscom is exactly the kind of person you want coaching your kids. His dedication and love not only for the game but for each of the boys on his team is indescribable. He is a leader that values Family and Faith first. He has taught the boys on his team that they are brothers, always there for one another. He teaches the kids to be the best they can be on the field and off as mentors/servant leaders in the community. Brandeis High School is so lucky to have him, and I can’t think of anyone else more deserving of The Life Changer of the Year award. ??
Coach Branscom is a huge influence on all of our lives on and off the field, he always brings positivity and motivation everywhere he goes and let’s nothing get the best of him. He is a true role model and definition of a leader and great man.
I have known Coach Branscom since 2001 as a player at UMHB. He has always set high standards for himself and the athletes that he works with on a daily basis. He is always willing to go above and beyond to help his athletes be their best on and off the field. His high expectations along with his desire to build up young people allows him to change lives for the better. I am thankful for my experiences with Coach Branscom and glad that he has an opportunity to change lives for his athletes and his coaching staff. To sum it up, Coach Branscom is a Lifechanger and the ripple effect of that change reaches many lives beyond what even he realizes! Thanks Coach!
David Branscom is many things. He’s a husband, father, son, cousin, coach, teacher and friend. He is a good man. He is the kind of man that calls his grandmother every Sunday to tell her about his football game. He is a man that changed my life for the better many moons ago. He taught me to call my grandparents and to be grateful for their wisdom. He taught me to work hard and play harder. He taught me to ‘attack each day with an enthusiasm unknown to man kind.’ He believed in me when I needed it most. He coached and encouraged me. He fought for me when I didn’t know how to fight for myself. He’s stood up for me, defended me, and challenged me to be a better human. I asked him one time why he does what he does and he said something I’ll never forget, “because sometimes you get to see a kid change.” Thank goodness he believes in that and works every day with our youth, our future. Helping to mold them into better leaders, teachers and humans. He is indeed, a life changer.
Can't think of a better nominee! As a former Coach of mine at UMHB and now a friend, he has a had a lasting impact on me. He instills GREAT values to those he coaches and those values can be carried throughout life.
Coach Branscom has been such a blessing to our Brandeis High School community & my own family. He showed our son unconditional love through challenging times, which is a blessing that still brings tears to my eyes. Our son, Logan, has a favorite bible verse that he learned from Coach Branscom. That verse is not only on his high school Letterman jacket, but it also hangs on his on his college apartment wall. Coach Branscom is the epitome of a coach who loves his job with a passion, yet loves his athletes even more.
Coach Branscom is the biggest changer of lives I have come across. He personally changed my life by providing an opportunity for me to be a High School Coach. He has an enormous impact on the athletes he has come into contact with by providing guidance and mentoring. He continues to change lives on a daily basis.
I have known coach Branscom since 1999. As a friend and former teammate of Coach Branscom at UMHB, I can tell you that David changes lives because genuinely loves and cares about the people that he comes into contact with, and that he is associated with. He has no hesitation to not only show that, but to also say it. Mix that with unmatched determination, the ability to motivate mountains to move, and a ability to create an amazing culture within the people around him, and you have what we know as David Paul Branscom.......LIFECHANGER
Coach Branscom was one of my coaches when I first got to college. He was fully vested in everyone he coached and brought the best out of me everyday. After my playing days I began to know branscom as a fellow alumni and leader of our alumni association. He continued to lead our alumni and raised the bar for our group. Branscom is a passionate leader that always brings the best out of whatever he is apart of.
Hello everyone my name is Diego I nominated coach David Branscom as my life changer i was one of his football managers last summer of 2018 I lost one of my cousins to suicide and I left football for three months but I came back because one thing that coach B taught me was to never give up and he told me “you’re a good kid Diego,I see you like son keep it up” coach Branscom inspired me to follow a future of being a high school coach
We looked "LIFE CHANGING" up in the dictionary and the adjectives / synonyms were: profound, pivotal, impactful, influential and significant. These words describe David Branscom to a T! His profound belief and work ethics impact the lives of his players, coaches and anyone he comes in contact with. His ability to lead by example is one of his greatest gifts. If you have David by your side you will never want for support, belief in your ability or a profound positive in your life. We were blessed to have David come into our lives 14 years ago when he married our daughter. We have seen over the years the man, coach, husband, father and son do whatever it takes to make each and every person in his life know their worth. His ability to coach these young men not only on the field but during a very pivotal time in their lives - when the decisions they make can affect their lives as well as those around them is truly his greatest accomplishment. We don't know of anyone more deserving of this award than David Branscom.
I have known David for almost 20 years. Everything about him screams high character! He possess all of the characteristics you want to see in a leader of young people. David has a wonderful and happy family. He is a very confident person that works extremely hard. David knows how to persevere and loves what he does. The old saying 'success breeds success' is very applicable with David. There might be many students that do not have an example to look up too. David can, and will provide that example.
I have been around a lot of coaches in my career. I have never seen a Coach like David Branscom. He is committed 100% to his job, but most importantly to his athletes and community. He is the epitome of what a great leader should be. He has created a family atmosphere and each of his football players consider each other brothers. He has taught them to pick each other up, when it is needed, and to celebrate, when one has made an accomplishment. Coach Branscom is a life changer and it shows by his actions. David Branscom is a life changer! I have know him for 18 years. In that time I watched him grow from a student-athlete at UMHB to a graduate assistant coach to a full time coach. He leads by example to his players. A loving husband and father. He always makes sure his family knows how important they are to him. In turn he teaches his players how important family is. Some may have no family other than their teammates. David ensures his team knows they are family and together they can accomplish anything. He cares deeply for each student. He wants them to grow not only on the athletic field but as a caring human being that knows servant leadership, works hard on academics and becomes all they can be as an individual. It’s an incredible thing to be around David. His energy runs off on you. He makes you feels so good about yourself after just a few sentences. It’s amazing how each one knows how much he cares. That is David Branscom. A man devoted to changing lives in the most positive way. He is more than a football coach. Athletics has given him a great platform to touch many lives. He doesn’t take that lightly and works hard to show his students how bright their futures can be if they work hard to trust, commit and care in themselves and others. For all these reasons and more, I believe David Branscom, is worthy of the Life Changer of the Year Award.
Coach Branscom is a great man & coach! He inspires, motivates & leads by example. Coach pushes the players to do their best, be their best, & mentor/serve others as servant leaders. His all in mentality is about more than football, but helps teach the players about life beyond the game. I can’t imagine a more applicable candidate for this award than our Coach B!
David Branscom is the most motivational coach I know, he is always there for his athletes and are so supportive for every single one of them. Not only is he supportive for his athletes, his also has a huge love for everyone that is there to help, like the students, parents, student trainers, filmers, and other coaches. He's also has always been there me whenever I needed. All I have to say his he's changed so many people to be the best person they can be, including me, I'm so glad I can call him my coach.

David is passionate about his players and community. He’s very deserving of this award. Even more for what he does off the field opposed to on. He’s a class act nonetheless.
As David’s wife, I can speak not only on his work ethic behalf, but also his role as a father. We do not consider all the time he spends away a loss for our family, but a gain for so many young men. The time and effort that he spends 7 days a week, hopefully until Christmas is a testament to how much he truly cares about these kids. He is also one of the most humble people that I know and would never share that he even got nominated, however, I know that deep down this is such an honor! One of the best qualities that David possesses is the ability to strive for greatness every single day. He even shares this with our children daily by telling them via phone (since he’s already at work when we leave) to “Attack each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.” A quote from Jim Harbaugh that has really touched our family since the kids were young enough to speak. He may expect a lot from everyone but nothing that he’s not willing to do himself. Perhaps I saved the best for last. David truly loves God and spends mornings reading scriptures that I am sure helps him to be a better coach, husband, and father. Not only is he changing the lives of young boys, but he’s teaching them how to become young men. He truly loves these players and cares not only about how they play on the field, but about the type of people they will be. So, my vote is for this hard working man that some call coach, but we call dad!

Been friends with Dave for 20 years, played football with him in college and coached with him at UMHB. Can't have a better guy to lead our young people at Brandies HS. Thanks for continuing to instill the values of love, commitment, integrity, and hard work in the young people you coach. You're a good person and a great friend, love you buddy!

Coach B is like a second father to me it’s my first year at Brandies and he’s took me under his wing and helped me adjust to the school and the culture, not only that but he’s believed in me like nobody else has.
Coach Branscom goes above and beyond for our football players and the rest of the athletic department. He has shown his commitment for Brandeis HS over the years. Coach Branscom also has heart for everything he does. He deserves the recognition and more.
When you here the phrase all in, this is what Coach Branscom signifies. He is “ALL IN” when it comes to his players and students. He goes all in not only on coaching football, but also teaching young people the game of life. He is definitely all in on MAKING LIFE CHANGES for young students. This is just one of the many reasons he would be a great recipient of this award!
