Carlos Soto received nominations from multiple colleagues. The following profile contains text from all nominations.

Mr. Soto, who is known by students and staff as Mr. Carlos, is an exceptional individual and the king of his school! He makes sure his school looks amazing on a daily basis. He always has a smile, a word of encouragement, and a bit of humor and wisdom for everyone.  The students at Stewarts Creek Elementary know how important he is to their school. They adore him and constantly look for ways to help him with his job.  He cares for everyone and is there within seconds of calling him.

"I've never seen him get upset or flustered about anything," said Becky Bobo, a colleague. "He handles his custodial staff with professionalism.  Our school looks as wonderful today as it did when it opened 14 years ago.  When visitors come to our school, they always comment on how clean and nice it looks.  This is all due to the hard work and dedication of Mr. Carlos.  Our school would be lost without him."

"I couldn't specify his exact job description because he simply does it all--and always with a smile," said Amanda Murdock, another colleague. "Our students love him, our staff loves him, and his custodial staff loves and respects him as well. He supervises janitorial staff, but his impact on our building goes far behind his perfectly waxed floors. He fixes bookshelves, pencil sharpeners, chairs--you name it...Knowing we have Mr. Carlos is such a blessing and comfort."

Mr. Carlos cares about everyone! He always has kind and encouraging words. He is the first to get to school, and makes sure the building is clean so that “teachers can teach, and students can learn”. He believes we all have a part to play in doing what is best for students. He cares so much for others, and deserves to be celebrated!
