William Martin was nominated by his colleague, Ron Laskey.
At 75 years old, Mr. Martin became a BMITE teacher at McLain High School. He is a graduate of Princeton, holds an MBA from SMU, and is the former mayor of Fayetteville, Arkansas. At 50 years old, he entered seminary to fulfill his life's dream as a Episcopalian Priest, and he fills in at local churches as needed. Mr. Martin is an outgoing, positive role model at his school. His dancing abilities at assemblies are well-known by the students!

Mr. Martin is a great teacher. Who always has a smile on his face and joyful comment to share. He has of love of teaching and sharing that with everyone he comes in contact with. There are only nice things to say about Mr. Martin his love of life is contagious. He love music and will dance to the his student music. He has been giving the nickname, "White Chocolate" for his dance moves.
Mr. Martin is a wonderful man. I have had the privilege to be his Instructional Mentor during his time with TPS. He is such a positive influence on everyone he comes in contact with. He is such joy to be around!
Very nice man. Always when he sees me speaks and says have a good day. It means something to me. He doesn't have 2 do that.
Mr.Martin is an amazing coworker and teacher. He comes to work everyday with a smile and joyful attitude. He has brighten some of my worst days with his joyous hellos and wonderful compliments. He’s a team player and always willing to help out. He doesn’t know but I’ve adopted him as my grandpa, which is important for me because I lost my grandfather this summer. I cannot think of a better person to be nominated for this award!
Mr. Martin goes above and beyond not only for his students, but also for his colleagues. Mr. Martin is kind and funny and you’ll never catch him without a smile!
Mr. Martin has a heart of gold and is an incredible asset to our team here at McLain. His passion for our scholars is evident in how he strives to prepare them for the professional workplace by teaching soft skills. His gentle demeanor wins his students' trust and earns their respect. In all that Mr. Martin does, it is obvious that he loves his students and considers it an honor to invest in their lives and education.
