Kellie Samsel was nominated by a colleague who wishes to remain anonymous.

Mrs. Samsel is one of the most dedicated teachers one could have the privilege of knowing. Her students are always top priority, no matter what personal challenges she may have. Along with the required curriculum, Ms. Samsel teaches life lessons that her students will take with them as they grow into responsible, hard-working adults.

Mrs. Samsel is always there for her students, regardless of what may be happening in her personal life. Even breast cancer, chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, and radiation treatments couldn't keep her from her students. With the support of her team and her entire school, Mrs. Samsel balanced her health, family, and earning a Master's degree, while her students remained just as important.

"She taught her students to handle situations that are far less than ideal with grace. They watched her work hard and fight even harder. She is a true testament to the strength of the human spirit," the nominator said. "She is a champion."

Kellie has been a best friend and a champion to many long before now. She certainly is a true testament that faith, family and friends are what are most important in life. She has always been dedicated to her job and family. I have had the privilege of being close to her most of our lives and there is no one more deserving. She really is a life changer for all who know her. Love you Kellie.

She's the best daughter in law too! So lucky to have her in our family! Kellie already had her Masters but earned her Psychometry Endorsement to test children with learning disabilities! She's just the best! Love her a bunch!

I especially appreciate Kellie's assistant, Audra Bosavge. Yes, my daughter has been a champion in this journey.
