Music that Describes Jennifer
Jennifer Tiller was nominated by Chapman High School assistant principal, Kat Thornton.
If you look up the word selfless in the dictionary, Mrs. Tiller's picture should appear directly next to the definition. No one works more tirelessly for the students and staff of USD 473 than Ms. Tiller. She is the first person to walk into the building (often before 5 am) and the last person to leave the building, and she changes the lives of her students through her acts of service.
Whenever Mrs. Tiller sees a challenge and/or a need, she finds a way to get it done. You might think her budget and resources are limited, but Mrs. Tiller does not see that as an obstacle. Every year, there are new items appearing in the kitchens to help make her district a better place. These items are not purchased through a large budget or capital outlay, but they arrive because Mrs. Tiller will find a way to personally to make it happen. For example, one of this year's items was a coffee bar for Chapman High School. Mrs. Tiller knew students were going out and purchasing expensive coffees in the morning. She wanted to find a way to fulfill the student’s “wish list” by providing an affordable option. Mrs. Tiller found a piece of furniture that would work for the coffee bar, gave it some TLC over the summer, and turned it into a popular student destination.
Mrs. Tiller provides meals for every teacher, student, and activity where a meal is needed, from football team meals to teacher in-service lunches. She does not do this with a large staff. She does not do this with overtime pay. Mrs. Tiller does it because it benefits the students and staff. She knows through this service, she can cut costs for her school and district's programs through her selfless work long after the school day ends.
Mrs. Tiller has never settled for the status quo in the Food Service department. She has single-handedly implemented grab-and-go lunches, second chance breakfast, and weekly lunch specials for staff and students. She works with students who are hoping to enter the food service area and serves as their mentor.

She's a talented baker and chef, but her true talent is her willingness to see what needs to be done and take that on without pause for her self-sacrifice. Servant leadership is difficult to see in today’s culture, but our servant leader, Jennifer Tiller, changes our lives for the better."
I was so humbled by that nomination. I love doing for others and helping people. I know that I am following the plan that God has for me, trying to make a small difference in people's lives. Thank for everyone s kind words .
We love this lady and her family so much. She never puts herself first. She puts her students, her family, and this community first every time. She has creative ideas and chooses compassion for others as her first priority.
She never sleeps because people matter more than anything.
She is kind, serves with gratitude and her product is always excellent. She can plan a health fair, decorate for a wedding, and feed 200 hundred people all in the same weekend with a smile on her face.
She never sees an obstacle, she only sees it as an opportunity to work harder or find a creative way around it.
She is a hero ????? with heart ?? and soul to share.
She is a treasure to know and she blesses everyone she meets.

Lifechanger of the Year, yes that suits her well!!! I don't know a harder worker in our District than Jennifer! She works countless hours with little sleep to make our District better and to make our students happy and cared for. She always, always goes the extra mile and does everything she can to make all of our occasions special and to make sure all of our 1,100 students are fed with great food and are taken care of. She has a smile to everyone who comes her way. She recently catered the District Christmas party and even after only sleeping from 8-1:00 am, was in her kitchen baking away for that afternoon's festivities and of course no one but us knew this and a lady from the community politely asked Jennifer if she could bake rolls for her Church and Jennifer didn't miss and beat and said OF COURSE I CAN with the biggest smile I've ever seen. She never lets you know she's exhausted and never says no to anyone about anything, if she can help it anyway. Jennifer and her husband are the kindest people you ever want to meet. If anyone deserves this honor, it is Jennifer Tiller. She has a great support system for sure but Jennifer truly does everything she can to make things as wonderful as humanly possible.

I recognized your efforts to create meal choices and fun events to keep students engaged and participating in nutrition programs. I wish you continued success in everything you do.
If anyone deserves this award, it is Jennifer, hands down. She is a very kind and compassionate person and it shows. She makes sure that everything runs smoothly and is always there with an extra set of hands, if needed. It is obvious that she enjoys her job and shows it through the joy she gives and brings to others. USD 473 is lucky to have her!
Jennifer Tiller is a Life Changer....to so many! As a parent of Chapman students, she has helped with football meals, band fundraisers, and FFA events. She also has organized a wellness fair for students as well as the community. She is an amazing wellness coordinator, staff member, and, most importantly, human!!! Well deserving of this award.
I am new to the district, but I had heard many great things about Jennifer and all that she does for the Chapman schools. She goes above and beyond and always welcomes everyone with a smile!

Jennifer Tiller dedicates many "extra" hours to ensure the students of Chapman High School have an exceptional lunch room environment as well as numerous choices of meals.
She always goes above and beyond for the students and staff here at Chapman High School. She continuously seeks out ways to improve what is already an amazing lunch program here! Students and staff always look forward to grabbing a delicious meal whether it be breakfast or lunch. Jennifer most definitely changes the lives of many on a daily basis!

There is no one out there that deserves this award more than Mrs. Tiller. As a student at CHS, I can confidently say that she has changed the lives of many students here, including mine. She has built such a wonderful space in the kitchen and it brightens up my day no matter what I'm going through. She is a very busy woman but always manages to say hello and greet you with a smile, and that means more to me than you will ever know. She is such an amazing person and I couldn't see anyone else more fitting for this award.

Jennifer does a great job of being involved in our school. We have 7 special breakfasts/lunches throughout the school year. She makes sure that we have everything we need, and she also attends & helps serve! She adds a special touch to each gathering.

Mrs. Tiller is amazing! She not only does wonderful things for both Blue Ridge and Enterprise Schools, but the entire district. She has gone above and beyond this year for providing breakfast for our Grandparents Day and also our an amazing meal for our Thanksgiving Feast. The students, staff, and community members greatly value her hard work and dedication to our district!
Jennifer is an amazing food service director. She goes out of her way to provide opportunities for the kids and staff to have delicious options for breakfast and lunch. Jennifer goes far and beyond to help us enjoy the variety of meals her staff prepares. She is always willing to get the meals to our building so we can enjoy the lunch specials.
Jennifer and her staff prepared the meals for several of our recognition programs. The food was amazing and the presentation was worthy of a TV show!
When I was using an ice cream machine for my daughter's wedding and had problems with it, she made an extra trip to Manhattan to get it working properly and saved the day! This is the kind of person Jennifer is...she is willing to help everyone in any way she can.

Mrs. Tiller does such an awesome job and is always a positive person. She goes above and beyond her daily duties. We are so lucky to have such a passionate individual within our school district. She truly does what is best for our students which is care for them and making sure the students are feeding their minds full of delicious food!

Mrs. Tiller has made lunchtime a fun time for my kids. My son has always been very picky about his food and shied away from school lunch, that is until we moved into USD 473. The menu that Jennifer and her staff put together is fun and healthy and has opened up my little dude to a whole host of foods that he used to be afraid of. Mrs. Tiller and her amazing staff of cooks and servers have done spectacular work and deserve any accolade that comes their way.
Mrs.Tiller is a superhero she makes sure all the kids have a nutritious meal to eat at CHS. Also she is a very friendly lady to be around with a great personality and work ethic inside and outside of the kitchen. This is why Mrs.Tiller deserves life changer of the year.
She will bend over backwards to help anyone. She is by far the most amazing, selfless woman I know.

Jennifer absolutely deserves this award! She is always working to make things better for others, whether it is students, staff, church, or anywhere else in the community she sees the need! Even in the summer when school is not in session she is taking time to make sack lunches to deliver to kids at the pool/park who may not get a meal otherwise that day. We are so blessed to know Jennifer and have her as part of our community!
This lady is an amazing human being. She is always going the extra mile for others and never thinks about her own needs. At our church, she helps serving food for kids after the games and during the summer as well. She changes lives every day and every where she goes.
While working with Jennifer, she would always be planning special things for the students and staff for USD 473. There would be activities and prizes for the kids and special meals for the staff. We would always try and have as much fun with everyone as possible just to help make people’s days better. Jennifer took up a different position inside USD 473 just to expand her ability to help the students and staff of the district. She loved taking on extra responsibilities that would further people’s happiness and joy in the district and was always there to lend a hand when needed.

It's true Jennifer is a very dedicated leader and steps up to the plate in her district. I see this every month when she hosts the regional food service directors meeting. Jennifer is loved by so many parents and students! She is an outstanding role model for our youth. Her selfish acts of kindness and genuine love for her community is not only seen everyday by the students but imitated as well. She leads by example.
I have known Jennifer since the day our husbands joined the military back in Iowa over 25 years ago. We have been through so many adventures and heartbreaks together. But there is no one person on this earth I can think of that is more fun, creative, honest, and loveable to hang out with when you need a friend than Jennifer. Plus she is a great cook. Jennifer, I have known you for several years, and you have been a constant source of inspiration born out of awesomeness, for the school and community you serve. You always go above and beyond what anyone would ever expect of any one person. I am ecstatic to see you nominated for this LifeChanger award because you are exactly that: a life changer. In fact, you recently helped to make my own life, as well as my son's life better through the small act of giving an extra 5 minutes of your time. Following one of the football team meals that you helped to provide, you stayed until the last boy was picked up. That boy was my son. I had gotten out of my night class late, so I did not arrive until 5 minutes after everyone else had left. This, my second to last, semester has put a strain on my entire family, and Jennifer you were very gracious considering the fact I was taking away your time with your own family. What a blessing you gave me by not make me feel guilty for arriving late. Five minutes may not seem like much, but for someone who has had an almost constant sense of guilt because of the many times I have had to come late for games and other school events, the grace you gave was a very big deal to me. Jennifer, I have never met such a genuine and generous, yet humble person in all of my life, and I am glad my son has had the honor of witnessing what true philanthropy looks like in all that you do for our school and our community. I met Jennifer while our husband's were deployed. I was left out of news regarding their return home. Jennifer not only made sure I knew the happenings but made me feel less left out & lonley. She is a wonderful lady, with a big heart.
As a recent graduate of Chapman High school, I can not think of someone more deserving of this award than Mrs. Tiller. She knew that lunchtime is vital to students, and made sure that every student got quality meals served with a smile! Mrs. Tiller also went out of her way to offer special treats to staff and students for special occasions and holidays. Mrs. Tiller has a heart of gold and deserves the world!
As her husband, I see all of the early, early mornings that she is headed to work and the late nights she puts into caterings all with the desire to make people happy with her food. She gives so much of herself to make sure that all the kids and staff are fed daily, regardless of their financial situations. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does just to make each day better than the one before, to raise the spirits of everyone she comes in contact with. She does all of this without seeking attention, noteriety or fame but for the pure joy of leaving things better than she found them and serving her community.

I could not think of a person more deserving than Jennifer. As a former student at CHS, I know first hand the sacrifices Jennifer made to make each students life better. She is one of the most selfless people I have ever met. Being able to see her almost everyday and talk about the goals she had for the kitchen was one of my favorite things about high school. You could tell how much she really cared about each student in the school. Even when I see her out and about today, she still talks with me about her plans, like the coffee bar. Jennifer truly is a life changer, and I would love to see her win this award:)

This nomination is spot on and I can’t think of anyone more deserving than Jennifer! I had the pleasure of working with her and saw just how much time, thought, selflessness, and love goes into making a difference in not only the students but the the staff’s lives as well!
