Marcus Antwine was nominated by his principal, Shyulanda Randle-Filer.
"Mr. Antwine has brought change to our campus by challenging our scholars, staff and faculty to be better," said Randle-Filer. "His favorite slogan is "Let's Get that Work." It has become contagious, and the scholars are responding by moving towards greatness within themselves. He has also encouraged the faculty and staff to utilize social-emotional learning skills to connect with our scholars."
Mr. Antwine, I think that was an awesome way to bring Black History to life for your students, even though it may have had some Hollywood theatrics to make it interesting, as long as the overall theme was revealed they will remember this day forever. Keep up the good work my brother. We need more male teachers of color in the classroom. As a Lamar Graduate you are doing that district proud. You deserve this nomination because are moving mountains through exposure to the past.
Mr. Antwine is a climate and culture changer on any school campus. He has been an inspiration and motivator to his students and a pillar of our community. It is an honor to be able to support this great man on his nomination of Life changer of the year award.
Mr. Antoine is a deeply motivated teacher and coach. His contagious personality and demeanor are strong qualities when working with tmrs future. There should be more individuals like Mr. Antoine in this world, shaping and molding our future generations for greatness. His kindness and compassion Will always be appreciated and remembered for years to come.
Me Antwine is very passionate about his job. You can see it in every aspect of his life. He is always putting the children first in everything he does. He is an amazing educator.

I can not be surprised to see this great man nominated for such a prestigious award. He is a remarkable young man and I can’t think of anyone more deserving. The knowledge that he instills in the minds of the young people is beyond mind blowing.
He is a great teacher. He truly cares and wants the best for the kids he teaches. His hardwork goes beyond the classroom and is a positive role model for these kids to look up to. He pushes and encourages the kids to be the best person they can be! We need more people in the world like that!
