LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Maria Arguelles was nominated by a colleague and fellow LifeChanger nominee, Efrain Valdivia.

Mr. Valdivia has known Mrs. Arguelles for about 20 years as a colleague, and he speaks highly of her dedication and passion as a teacher. She has a tremendous story to tell. She began her career working two jobs as an operator in a factory and selling flowers on the street. Her kids helped her sell flowers using their skates. Today, they have graduated with honors and are getting scholarships from Harvard. Mrs. Arguelles has also completed a master degree and she has long been a role model, not only as a teacher but, as a single mother. Her students respect and love her because of her professionalism and dedication!
