LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Aubrey Roths was nominated by an anonymous parent of two students.

"Aubrey wears a shirt that says 'LOVE first TEACH second,' and she lives by this," said her nominator. "Both of my children had her last year, and they couldn’t say enough good things about her. She loves everyone she teaches. She knows my son is interested in science, so she still sends me links to things she thinks he’ll like, or makes sure he knows when there’s a meteor shower. Aubrey connects with the kids on a personal level, which transfers to the classroom, and my kids excelled in her class."

Ms. Roths has a locker, which she keeps stocked with feminine products for students. This summer, she reached out to the community for small makeup bags or pouches, which she fills and keeps in the locker. She doesn’t want the girls to be without supplies and wants to make sure they can get to the restroom discretely. 

"My kids talk about how much they loved her last year and how she always made sure they knew she cared," said her nominator. "When my son didn't place in the State Science Fair, she sat with him and made sure he knew how proud she was. The fact that she cared so much made him feel pretty great!"
