DeAndre Rushing was nominated by a colleague, Tearee Easter.
Mr. Rushing has always exhibited great character on Rayford's campus and is respected by other members in the Aldine community. He believes in establishing well-rounded relationships with all of his students and has high expectations for all of them. Mr. Rushing has been a volunteer basketball coach for three years and has brought home the Championship trophy each year. He continues to support former students in their academics and athletic ambitions. Mr. Rushing exemplifies what it means to be a LifeChanger.
Mr. Rushing it's truly a joy to observe a colleague like yourself on a day to day basis. The relationships you build with your students as well as your great rapport is matchless without a doubt. The essence of education primarily is to exhibit love, compassion, and care for your students as well as an ability to build robust character in them in which you very much embody. Glad to have crossed paths with you along my career trek.
We have worked together for some years now and you have expressed to me how you see yourself in your kids. You have a passionate desire to make the most impactful change in your students lives. You strive to set an example before them that they may not have at home. Continue to make a positive impact on the kids, continue to set the mark high and continue to be the much needed role model that they need.
It has been an honor to watch you grow over the past 3 years and become the teacher and coach that you are today. To get to watch someone that is so passionate about what they do is truly inspiring. You never accept failure and always strive to be a better you. Your students, parents, and even co workers sense those qualities and truly love you for it. To say that you deserve this award would be an understatement by far. Congrats and keep being you!
