Sharon Delesbore's nominator would like to remain anonymous.
By her students, she's known as Mama D. By her coworkers, she's known as Dr. D. For 19 years, Dr. Delesbore has lived her life to serve others. She's a lifelong teacher who works as an assistant principal. With such a demanding job, she still finds time to volunteer in the community through her position as president of the nonprofit she helped to start, the Family, Life and Community Resource Center. In this role, she advocates for equitable education for minority students, parental involvement and victims' rights. She is compassionate and caring, and her faith has led her to start a motivational group at her school called the Hurricane Huddle.
Dr. Delesbore is the kind of person people go to when they need someone to just listen. When you need help, she doesn't send you away or dismiss your feelings. If she doesn't have the answer, she will find out who does. It is in her heart to serve and encourage others. She believes in her calling to help students and their families.

Mrs. Delasbour is an awesome administrator. I reconnected with her at CMMS and then followed her from Ferndale to Hightower. She is an able communicator who gets along well with parents and students. Students find her tough, but "cool". She is hard-working and frequently goes well beyond the call. She is assuredly deserving of the title "life changer".
Words can't accurately express how awesome she is.
Dr. Delesbore Is a humble spirit, a Servant Leader and always willing to help her peers, students and staff members.

Dr. D is an amazing AP at Hightower, every time I see her she greets me with a smile and brightens my day. I have worked with her during freshman orientation, and I interviewed her for a college project I had for my AVID IV class. She was attentive and helped me tremendously on both occasions. She is a delightful person and does as much as she can for her students, especially the freshmen. In the short time I’ve known her she’s done nothing but encouraged me and support me, it has really been a pleasure to know her and be around her. Dr. D is an amazing woman and has created an impact at Hightower High School. I think she is the perfect candidate for this position.

Even as a child she has had a heart for people. If there is anything I know about Sharon, she is 150% dedicated to her school, students, and parents.
Sharon is a leader, a care taker, a sister, a friend. She is a true joy to be around and works hard to improve the lives of the kids she works with and the people all around her. No one deserves this more!

I have had the pleasure of knowing Sharon since our Lady Coog days at the University of Houston. From day one, she was encouraging and took me under her wings.
