LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Janice Strickland was nominated by her former student, Debi Barron-Young.

"Ms. Strickland was my fourth grade teacher many years ago. She also taught my older brother," said Barron-Young. "She touched my life and inspired me to want to become a teacher. Ms. Strickland was always so patient and so sweet to everyone.  She is still within our school district, and she served as my son's principal when he was in elementary school.  He is now 25 years old. In every position she has held, everyone has fallen in love with her. She is an excellent role model.  She was very nurturing, not only to me, but my son, as well.  Ms. Strickland deserves every honor she could receive.  She is an outstanding person, educator, and friend. She will never know the impact she had on my life."
