Gwen Moravec was nominated by her colleague, Kristie Riddle.

"Gwen is inspirational to our students and dedicated to our school," said Riddle. "As a new teacher to Hughes Middle School, Gwen has also made a huge impact on me as a co-worker. I could tell immediately that she leads by example and abides by all rules to better our school environment."

Ms. Moravec works one-on-one with students and collaborates with them in the co-teach Science classroom. She is also a leader in the community with CASA. She truly pours her heart out into everything she is involved with, all while being a single mom with two teen daughters. Ms. Moravec actively supports her children and is involved with their sports in the community.

Students from Hughes Middle School enjoy working with Ms. Moravec because of her bubbly attitude, passion for teaching, and nurturing personality. These qualities are reflected in everything she does on a daily basis. The students truly know and feel that Ms. Moravec cares about their learning and their future. This trickles into a positive learning environment in the classroom and sets the standard on campus. She expects a lot from her students, and she works diligently to help them achieve those standards.

Gwen is a bright shining face in the morning drop off line. She is always talking to the kids and laughing with them to get the day started on a positive note. Such an amazing teacher and friend.

I'm so thankful for Ms Moravec! She is a strong leader and encourager! She goes out of her way to help, cheer, encourage, and support her students. She embodies everything you want in someone teaching your child. She is genuine in her concern for her students.
