Mr. Jason is one of the hardest working young men I have ever met. No job is too big. He never says it isn't in his job description to help. If he sees someone in need, he jumps right in to help! He cares about the students of Bethune Middle School and follows them throughout high school. Everyone knows Mr. Jason will be there for them!

Susan Passieu Posted over a year ago

I have known Jason since I started teaching 26 years ago. He was a student at the high school at that time. Even in high school, Jason was one of the kindest kids in the classroom and halls of CCHS. I now have the privilege of working with Jason at Bethune Middle School. He takes care of my classroom for me. He always greets me with a smile everyday and never fails to come by my classroom to check on me to see if I need something or need a minute break. He is always willing to help students find lost items or walk my kids to the nurse if they need assistance. I don’t just consider Jason a colleague, but also a friend. Jason is a great role model for our students for dependability, hard work, kindness, and always being willing to help others!

I was Jason's social studies teacher for one block period a day when he was in high school. His kindness, sweet smile and willingness to work always amazed me. How could any child be this wonderful I often thought. One day in a lesson about U.S. Presidents (Andrew Jackson) we were discussing a duel that Jackson fought once. The dual was a result of a British soldier insulting Jackson. I asked the class what they would do if someone insulted them that way. I still remember Jason's answer, "I would turn my other cheek because that's what the Bible teaches us to do." I also remember another colleague who also taught Jason. She once told me that she believed God put Jason on this earth to teach other people how to act. I agreed with her 100 per cent! I was so pleased to hear about Jason's job at BMS and I know he is a dedicated worker who often walks to work since he does not drive. I am honored and pleased to share these comments about Jason. Be assured they come straight from my heart!

Jason has proven himself to be an honest, hard-working, and personable individual. He is a valuable asset to Charlton County School District. Although he is the custodian for Bethune Middle School, everyone in the district knows Jason because of his friendly demeanor, huge smile, and his willingness to help anyone in need; all without asking for anything in return! Jason is an active participant in most school activities, encouraging an environment that is safe and clean for all students and staff, and eager to stay until the job/work is done. In addition to his school work, Jason is an active member of his church. He has demonstrated that he is a gentle and selfless individual when it comes to matters of humanity and is an awesome person to have as a friend and a colleague. I believe that Jason is an exemplary human being with kindness, personality, and a big heart necessary to be a LIFE CHANGER. Congratulations, Jason! Jason is an awesome person and worker. I have known him for close to twenty years, and he is hands down the hardest worker I know. He has always been an outstanding worker, person, and friend. When I had to move my classroom three times, Mr. Jason was right there helping me move and get settled into my new school. He is such a good role model for our students. Also, he's dependable, humble, and just a good all around person. He would be the best person to win the award. He would be so honored too. I can't tell you enough nice and good things he's done for so many people including myself.

Pamela Nixon Posted over a year ago

I've known Mr. Jason for almost fifteen years. He is respected by our family, friends, school system and community. He wears a smile just as big as his heart. He is always willing to help anyone at anytime. I would not have survived my first year of teaching without his help. He's dependable and a Christian man who loves everyone he comes in contact with.

Becka Lloyd Posted over a year ago

As our custodian, Jason, is in contact with students and staff on a daily basis. He faces each day with a smile and a willingness to help all those around him never with complaint. It is his gentle spirit he models for everyone that makes him a life changer. He is respectful to every person he encounters, child or adult, and always shows kindness to each situation presented whether it's a child looking for a lost item or a staff member that needs help locating something from the abyss of the storage closet. He works to keep our school in great condition making it a clean environment that welcomes all that enter. He is dedicated to our school's mission as well as to the children we support and instruct. I applaud the positive attitude that is his and as a teacher appreciate it when I need his help. Jason is a life changer by providing the example of a servant's heart to me and all those that work at Bethune Middle.
