Music that Describes Amanda
Amanda Causey was nominated by her colleague, Jessica Rivera.
"If I had to describe Amanda Causey in one word, it would be selfless," said Rivera. "She teaches Algebra I and is our Student Council sponsor. It is evident that she is passionate about what she does and seeks to make a positive impact in the lives of the students she comes across. These are just some of the reasons why she was selected as Teacher of the Year for Conroe ISD in 2018."
If you were to walk into her Algebra I class you would see a classroom of students who are engaged, working in groups with smiles on their faces, and feeling confident about what they are learning. You would see a teacher who's smiling, laughing, and interacting with her students. It would be apparent that her priority is to build positive relationships with students.
In addition, Ms. Causey helps the school climate by having her STUCCO club host events such as dress up week for Homecoming and Red Ribbon Week. Furthermore, she hosts the famous student vs. staff dodgeball game (in which she always participates) to help raise scholarship funds for Seniors. Her colleagues love seeing her sweep the halls while singing into a microphone and encouraging students to get to class on time. Her positive attitude is contagious, and it's what she's known for at CHS9.
I recently had Ms. Causey for algebra 1, and she truly made me feel confident about what I was doing. I entered her class nervous and scared about math , because I believed I wasn’t good at it and Ms.Casuey changed that. She showed us multiple ways how to work out problems and solve things. She had many resources around the classroom to help us. She was always so nice and patient with us, if one person didn’t get what she was teaching she would go over it with the whole class until everyone fully gripped the concept. She was always willing to stay after and help tutor you , or if you needed help finishing up the homework for that night if you didn’t get it. She truly loves her job and loves what she is doing , plus she’s phenomenal at what she does. She was born to be in classrooms teaching kids not only algebra 1 , but she teaches every kid that comes through her class a valuable life lesson. She teaches so much more than just algebra 1 she truly leaves an impact on all of her students. Ms. Causey deserves so much recognition for all the hard work she puts in. You couldn’t ask for a better algebra 1 teacher.
Amy is SO deserving of this award. It is obvious that her mission in life is to make it a better place. As a Principal I have worked with many fantastic teachers. Amy stands above the rest with her passion for teaching, her care for students and her brave spirit that isn't afraid to take on anything. She is a leader among her peers. This award was made for Amy and all she embodies everyday.
Amy's enthusiasm is infectious! She is my co-sponsor for Student Council and she is continually coming up with new project for us to work on. The kids love her, the staff loves her, and I love her! She constantly inspires and motivates--she is a true leader in every capacity!
I was blessed with such an amazing teacher about 6 years ago. So long and she is still the first teacher that comes in mind when I think about a caring and loving teacher. She made sure we are interactive and understood the lesson of the day. She truly loves her job and her “kids”. Love you Mrs. Causey!
Mrs. Causey changes the lives of students and teachers by employing best practices, facilitating engaging activities, and providing students a supportive and safe environment. In addition, she welcomed the opportunity to allow professionals to observe anytime. Thank you Mrs. Causey.
I wish the best for Mrs. Causey! You can't spell Causey without 'cause'- how appropriate, I think. As a former student, i can testify to the fact that she has an impact on the leaders of tomorrow. She deserves respect, love and the admiration of those that hope to leave behind a legacy. Thank you, Mrs. Causey, for all that you do. You are a blessing to society!
You deserve this award 100% always going above & beyond for your students. I'm very grateful & thankful to be able to say you were my Teacher??
Mrs.Causey is the best teacher I have ever had I still remember her class and the way she made class so fun, while learning math! I will forever remember Mrs.Causey !!!
Mrs Causeys one of the types of teachers you remember for a lifetime! When I learned I passed the staar test, I’m not going to lie I was and still am shook because that’s the first time I ever passed a math staar with out having a retake lol. Im so glad I got you as my math teacher, you helped make my least favorite subject tolerable and I thank you for that!
Ms. Causey was my math teacher way back in school, and I always looked forward to her class. She makes every lesson the funnest ever. I don’t know how she does it but she can always top the last. She made me the man I am today cause all the lessons she taught me I couldn’t thank her enough
I’m a former student and just wanted to say she’s an amazing teacher and great role model
Mrs. Causey has a tendency to touch the heart. Not only is the title of Life Changer of the Year completely appropriate- she deserves the respect, the love and admiration from others. She's definitely followed by an positive effect. Once again, Thank You. You're a blessing to society.
I was in Mrs Causey's class last year. She was always so excited teach us because she's truly passionate about what she does. Not only would she treat us as students but also as people and members of her family.
No one deserves this award more than you. As long as I’ve known you, (20+ years!) you pour your entire heart and soul into things that you believe in. I saw you support student groups while we were in HS to politics in our 20’s, your family, your home, and now I see the amount of time and love you pour into your students. I’m forever inspired by your passion for life and giving to others.
Mrs. Causey was my 9th grade algebra teacher about 7 years ago. She was always the teacher that encouraged her students to do their best. I was never good at math, but in her class- that didn’t matter. She always found a way to differentiate her instruction in a way that fit all of her students needs, including mine. It’s teachers like her that have encouraged me to pursue the art of teaching! Hopefully I can be half the teacher she is some day.
Ms. Causey is amazing. I first met her as a sub. Then became one of her first classes she taught. She has a good head on her shoulders to make sure every student gets the help they need and knows what they’re doing. Even when I moved on grades, she was always right there for me if I needed help with anything or a tutor on my stuff. I’ve been out of school for about seven years now but I love to see her progress as a teacher and when I can see her at games and graduations. She’s a person of her word. I have much respect for her as a person and teacher. ???? You’re awesome Ms. Causey, always ??
Mrs.Causey was an amazing math teacher really did believe in me when i was lacking and really did try to better my grades even if she didnt have to, shes a amazing person and definitely deserves this!
Mrs. Causey was my pre-algebra teacher in 8th grade. She absolutely is an amazing woman. She helped me with all my struggles in problem solving, and just basic struggles in math. She came in every day with a smile on her face ready to teach and her work ethic is AMAZING.
There’s no one that deserves this more. You’re truly an inspiration and spread so much light!
All I can say is, what an amazing teacher!!! We worked together for a short time, but even after we coninue to get together to share ideas. What is truly evident is her love for the kids! My first year teaching, my principal told me, “You can teach a teacher to teach, but you can’t teach a teacher to care!” So true! Amy Causey truly cares! She is also always looking for new ways to teach and engage her students. She inspires her students and inspires other teachers around her! I’m proud to call her my friend!
Mrs. Causey is one of the greatest teachers that I had the pleasure of having both as a substitute teacher in 6th grade and again as my math teacher in 8th grade! She let all of her students know that they are loved, and could do anything they set their minds to. During those two years I was blessed to have her in my life she had helped mold my life into what it is today. I am going to college to become a teacher too. I hope that once I become a teacher I am half as good as Mrs. Causey! Thank you so much for everything you do for all of your students. Those little things you do for the make a big difference in their life! I love you!!
Ms. Causey inspires me to try new ideas in my own math classroom all the time! She is innovative and loves her kids in big ways! The perfect combination to inspire others!
