When you look at Mr. Lewis, you can see the passion and love he has for his kids. He always puts them first, makes them feel good about themselves, and lets them know they can be whatever they want to be as long as they put their mind to it and work hard towards their goals. He has the passion to keep going even in stressful times. Mr. Lewis is always going around with a smile on his face, making his colleagues and the students in his classroom laugh. He takes his job very seriously. All he wants to do is protect his student. He's an all-around American guy who never gives up on his students and wants to show them they can do anything in life.
Mr. Lewis has been such a blessing to our family. You can tell he genuinely cares for his students and consistently works to improve their lives. His smile is infectious and his energy level is high. I sincerely hope you give him serious consideration for all the lives he has touched and the families he has impacted from teaching.

For the last year and a half, Mr. Lewis has been the teacher of my son, Aidan. Aidan is autistic and severely speech impaired. Mr. Lewis works with Aidan in the Life Skills class at Creek Valley Middle School. A couple of years ago we were very apprehensive about moving from elementary school special ed classes into middle school. We'd heard stories that the quality of therapy and interaction would drop off significantly in middle school. Mr. Lewis took the time to show up at our ARD meeting while Aidan was still in 5th grade, and he definitely calmed our nerves. His zeal for working with the kids was obvious, and he actually had us looking forward to the transition by the end of the meeting. In the last year and half, Mr. Lewis continues to show us that passion every day, and we feel like he's working hard for our son while making it fun for him at the same time. Mr. Lewis always keeps everything positive and upbeat, and he's always been responsive to our concerns. I feel like he's been a real partner in my child's education, and we really hope you'll strongly consider him for this award.
Mr. Lewis is a wonderful teacher. He goes out of his way to make the students and staff in his room feel comfortable and safe. He is extremely passionate about his students and meeting their needs. He's extremely passionate and he truly deserves this award!
I don’t think I have ever heard a negative word come out of his mouth. Jay is quite inventive and supportive. He offers to help with students around the building that are not in his class, and the kids love him. He and his colleagues have grown the Circle of Friends program immensely by being the kind and supportive role model he desires others to be. From day 1 to the last day of school, he is a pleasure to be around and makes everyone feel good. He spreads love and joy where he goes by really caring about others. His attitude and joy make me want to do and be better.
Joy! Mr. Lewis has a smile this is infectious. He genuinely greets everybody as if his day was made by saying hello. His ability to make anyone feel acknowledged and appreciated is a skill many take decades to masker. The intentional interactions he makes with staff, student and admin are up-lifting. His modesty makes it hard to complement him. He always throws the praise right back at you. His presence on our campus would be severely missed if he is ever absent. Or when he needs to spending more time in the classroom with his kiddos who need more attention and affection. To measure the impact of Mr. Lewis is like trying to count grains of sand on a beach. It’s hard to truly quantify his impact! Thank you Mr. Lewis for ALL that you do!
Mr. Lewis is an amazing teacher, role model, and colleague. He is very passionate about what he does and just by watching him interact with his students it is evident that he enjoys what he does. Every day you can see Mr. Lewis in the hallway giving out hugs and smiles to everyone that passes him. He goes above and beyond for his students. He is an awsome and candidate and we are lucky to be able to have him at our school.
Jay’s passion reaches beyond the classroom. He has served as a mentor and cheer leader for many students and coworkers. Students will seek him out when they are struggling, and or just to talk about life situations. He instills in them the importance of a strong work ethic and character . If Mr Lewis senses discord or conflict in a classroom or situation, he is always there to provide assistance!! All students and staff are blessed by his presence.
I have worked with jay lewis for several years. He is a man that is kind and welcoming to everyone. He listens to all of the students and helps anyway he can. He communicates with the parents and staff as well. He helps everyone he meets. I cannot think of a more deserving candidate
Mr. Lewis is an amazing teacher and person. I am new to the LISD school district this year, and have been absolutely blessed on how he is with all the kids! He makes sure that all of my concerns are always taken care of and his commitment to work closely together with me for my child's needs reflect his passion and love for his position. He has such great communication, and positivity always! Very much deserved.
Mr. Lewis is a dedicated educator and mentor to all students at Creek Valley Middle School. He always takes the time to interact with each student with passion and always puts a smile on their face. His uplifting personality and kind heart makes a difference in the lives of his students and co-workers.

Mr. Lewis is a good teacher because he has an uplifting spirit and if I come in here down he helps me get back up again. Whenever the kids have a hard time he helps him get back in place and I think Mr. Lewis is a very good teacher. I think this amazing teacher deserves to win

Mr. Lewis is an excellent mentor and motivator for students with different abilities. He takes his time to get to know them. He goes above and beyond to help them with a multitude of different life decisions. He is kind and patient with other faculty members in times of crisis. Mr. Lewis takes time to listen to his co-workers and staff to ensure they are well taken care of. He makes amazing classroom lessons that relate to functional life skills every day!
He is an amazing teacher that goes above and beyond for any student in the building. The one thing that makes him so impressionable to every student on campus, is his ability to change and adapt to every need or situation that he is put into.
