LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Paula Haueter was nominated by her colleague, Donna Tapley.

Ms. Haueter has been working in Catoosa for over 20 years. She started working in Catoosa by serving on the Board of Education while her sons were in school and she was completing her educational degree. Once she was certified in teaching, she was also certified for special education. Catoosa Schools employed her as a special education teacher at one of the elementary schools.  After ten years, she moved up to the Administration Building and became Director of Education, Special Programs, Testing and Indian Education.

Ms. Haueter has always put her students first and continues to see each student, meet each of their parents, and meet weekly with the special education teachers under her responsibility.  Ms. Haueter puts faith, family, and students first, in that order, and very seldom takes time to relax.

"She is constantly attending educational meetings and works more than any special education director I have known," said Tapley.
