Fanelphia Mason was nominated by her son, Kevin Montgomery.
"I can write a book about this lady," said Montgomery. "From the time I was a baby until now, she has loved and cared for me and my two other brothers. My mother is a single parent who raised three boys and put all of us through college. She coached girls basketball and made her three children into athletes. Because of her, I'm playing college football, my oldest sibling played college basketball, and my other brother played arena football."
"My mom works two jobs just to make sure we have everything we need. She works at school from 7-3:45 and works at a local restaurant, Zaxby's, from 4-11:00pm," said Montgomery. "She needs a knee replacement, but put it aside so my brothers and I have what we need. My mom also brings food to her 40+ colleagues at school every other day to eat. The one thing I notice about my mom is that she never complains and will not take any money for her meals. She has taught kids from kindergarten through high school, and to this day, every student still remembers her. My mom has changed so many lives!"
This lady,Ms. Penny is like a 2nd mom to me. We work together a Zaxby's and she's my teacher. I love her so much ,she deserve this award.
Great teacher,mentor,role model, and an overall great person. Always has a smile and is continuously encouraging others. One of the best if not the best teacher i know!!

Miss.Penny is an amazing woman, she’s only been a part of my life for a few months and she’s one of the best people that avid could’ve ever placed in me and my kids life, she took me in and treated me as her own and there is absolutely nothing she wouldn’t do to make sure that we are good, we love her so much?? Mrs. Penny, she is not only my teacher she is my favorite person in the building. She feed me surprisingly, but that is not reason. She motivates me to push harder and to be a better person, she taught me that respect is not given its earned she is basically my mother at school she keeps me in check, makes sure I'm doing well in my classes. I really love this woman she has impacted my life heavily throughout self respect and manners wise. I'm very thankful for Mrs. penny and cant wait to finish out my school years with her.

I know Fanelphia as Mrs.Penny and i also know her as a great teacher. Her class room environment is very clean and she likes to get to the point. Because she likes to get to the point the majority of the students are ahead in her class. I am currently taking German and i am a course ahead than what i am supposed to be. Not only is she very straight forward she is fun too. She hosted parties for students who where ahead and then she also decided to let all the students in the party. Because of her generosity and her straight forwardness i learned a new language which has been i life changer since it introduced me to a whole new media of literature, movies, and especially games.

What is a teacher? I'll tell you: it isn't someone who teaches something, but someone who inspires the student to give of her best in order to discover what she already knows. Mrs. Penny is a great teacher she has inspired me in many ways throughout my high school year so far. She gives her students many advice on life and tells us what goes on out there.
