Sarah Fanny was nominated by a colleague, Barbara Rodgers.

In Ms. Fanny's first year of teaching at a public school, she has shown a tremendous talent. She has a calm demeanor that keeps students attentive to her every word. She smiles sweetly to students, and they respond as though she were the Pied Piper, literally following her leadership in every way.

"I have been very impressed with her ability to control classroom management for students who are but a few years younger," Rodgers said. "Her enthusiasm is contagious!  It is a joy to watch her relate to the students in the cafeteria. They find her approachable and willing to listen to them. She has said she wants to make a difference in the lives of young people, and I believe she is a role model that they can follow."
