Music that Describes Narda
Narda Lugo was nominated by her colleague, Nora Galvan.
In a short time, Mrs. Lugo has won the hearts of students, parents, community members, district administrators, Board Members and fellow librarians. Students anticipate visiting the library to listen to Mrs. Lugo's animated storytelling. During Family Literacy Nights, parents reach out and embrace her because she has developed a positive climate. She endeavors to assist anyone in need with learning about continuing education for teacher (GRE) resources. She directs parents to library resources when they are looking for information on citizenship or obtaining a GED certification.
Mrs. Lugo is part of a district-wide library curriculum writing committee. She and other library committee members collaborate and customize the library connection to Technology, Science, Math, Maker Space, Literacy and Social Studies to reflect content area timelines and curriculum. She is truly an amazing leader, In past years, she has chaired the committee for the Battle of the Books, a program that will soon expand to the state level. Mrs. Lugo makes things run smoothly because of her demeanor and organization skills.
"Mrs. Lugo represented our Library Department in being selected as the Teacher of the Year at her campus, Ford Elementary," said Galvan. "Mrs. Lugo stands up to all moral and ethical standards, which is undoubtedly a reason why her patrons are delighted to be around her. She comports herself in a professional manner and sets the pace for many to follow her example."
