Jeanine Hunt was nominated by her friend, Shelby Miller.

Mrs. Hunt is not only a LifeChanger for the school she teaches at now, but she has also left her footprint in her previous district.  Mrs. Hunt goes above and beyond expectations to make sure every student meets the high standards within her classroom. She also makes sure every student feels safe and welcomed each time they set foot through her door.

Mrs. Hunt changes the lives of her students every day.  When a teachable moment happens within her classroom, Mrs. Hunt finds the time to address the situation using real life stories or local and international events. Mrs. Hunt finds different ways to teach lessons so her students can not only master objectives, but get excited about coming to her class every day.

Mrs. Hunt continues to teach and be a role model after school.  She has tutored students in the past, and she helps with the drama club, which has long practices and many performances throughout the year.  Even though Mrs. Hunt may have a second job, she always finds time to attend student activities after school and on the weekends.

Jeanine is a former colleague of mine. She has been #LCOY material since I met her. She uses phenomenal differentiated instruction, teaches the whole child, and understands that everyone is different. She is compassionate, kind and knowledgable. She is the obvious choice for #LCOY #pickJeanine #easychoice #lifechangeroftheyear #inspiringteachers

She is one of the best mothers in the universe and a mom and teacher to the world! Mrs.Jeanine is a rare person! You will never know anybody like her. I consider myself blessed to have met her.

As my mother, I’ve gotten to witness first hand what kind of impact she has on every student she teaches. Growing up, I’ve met countless of her former students who told me “your mom is the best teacher I’ve ever had.” I get it, she has taught me everything I know. She loves, she cares, and wants every student, not just her own, to thrive. No matter how this friendly competition goes, she’s my personal “life changer.”

Jeanine, you hold such a special place, not only in my heart, but in the hearts of my whole family and our dear friends. When Jacy was put in your class he was very different from the young man he is today. Your patience, kindness, teaching methods, and true love and care helped Jacy literally learn how to learn. Yes, that is what I meant to say. He’s always been a smart boy, but learning was so difficult for him because he couldn’t sit still and he couldn’t keep his mind from wandering. He was a challenge for even the best teachers with the best intentions. You were the deal changer. Somehow you made a connection others just couldn’t. He’s moved on to middle school now. He’s able to sit still, focus on the tasks at hand, and is doing remarkably well in school. He’s always had friends, but now he brings them home and goes to visit at their homes. That’s new. That’s life! That’s what you gave him (and me). I hope you win this prestigious award, but even if you don’t, you will always be a life changer in my eyes (of the day, month, year...you see where I’m going with this). We love you, Jeanine Hunt, and we wish you the best! Thank you! ??

I consider Jeanine to be not only a great friend but also my “bonus mom”! She has lended me her support and shown me grace both in times that I felt alone and times that I’ve celebrated success. She manages to bring her thoughtfulness, gratitude, and joyful disposition into every interaction she has, and she is always ready to make a new friend. I know the kind of people she has raised her amazing children to be, so I have no doubt that she creates an environment her students can thrive in as well!
