Whitney Glenn was nominated by her colleague, Julianna Carpenter.

When staff, students, parents, and community members think of Ms. Glenn, they think of a go-getter. They think of someone who is passionate about what she does, advocates relentlessly for what she believes in, and takes the time to educate and encourage others to do the same.

"I had the privilege of meeting Whitney five years ago. She taught a structured learning classroom in the district where I was completing my practicum hours," said Carpenter. "She was an instant light and jolt of positivity. I watched her encourage, teach, nurture, and advocate tirelessly for the students in her classroom. Whitney has since risen to a leadership position in the district with grace and is easy to follow. She leads with courage and a high moral compass. When students needed extra support in our district, Whitney stepped up and took on the role. She put her desires to the side and truly put students needs before herself! Not only does Whitney educate students with special needs, but she and her family provided a forever home to a student who was placed in residential care. I truly can not express the gratitude and pleasure I feel having the ability to work alongside Whitney. She is deserving of this award, recognition, and so much more!"
