LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Lester Banks was nominated by his colleague, Brenda Kibble.

Mr. Banks is a dedicated advocate for young people in many facets of their lives.  Currently, Mr. Banks is the head monitor of Bryan High School and serves many other campuses in the district, as well.  He has an excellent rapport with the students because he has known many of them since they were in elementary school.  He oversees various youth activities at the Boys and Girls Club and extracurricular activities at the schools.  Mr. Banks ensures students have a safe place to grow, learn, develop, and excel.  From singing happy birthday to students in the cafeteria, to assisting a teacher with a student who refuses to comply with rules, he is an exemplary guardian for all children. He is able to diffuse volatile situations and bring enthusiasm and laughter into otherwise boring settings. It is a joy to work with him, and his colleagues cherish the gift he has been to their district.
