LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Hilda Robertson was nominated by a parent, Denise Braziel.

Ms. Braziel's daughter, Abby, struggled with school and had trouble adjusting. Ms. Braziel paid out of pocket to send Abby to District 2 in first grade. Mrs. Robertson came into their lives and helped Abby grow into a confident fifth grader.

Ms. Braziel shared a letter that Mrs. Robertson sent her over the summer.

"Hey Denise. This is Hilda. I just read your card again and I wanted you to know how much it means to me.  I'm a little sad that Abby won't be with us at OES, but I know we have to let go. Your entire family is precious, and I am fortunate to have you all in my life.  I love you all, too, and I am so proud of Abby.  I know she is going to have a great year.  If she needs me for any reason, just let me know.  Please share this with her so that she will know that she has the extra support if she needs it, even though she probably won't."
