Ms. Mok believes creating a positive classroom environment starts with making every student feel welcomed, valued, and safe from the moment they walk through the door. She strives to build strong relationships with her students by getting to know their interests, celebrating their successes, and encouraging them through challenges. She establishes clear expectations while fostering a classroom culture rooted in kindness, respect, collaboration, and curiosity. She also incorporates engaging, hands-on activities and opportunities for student choice to keep learning meaningful and enjoyable. Her goal is to create a space where students feel confident taking risks, asking questions, and growing both academically and socially.
Alaina Mok is without a doubt one of the most influential people i have met. She has single handedly changed my life, encouraging me to share my passion to the world and i’ve gotten a plethora of opportunities from doing so. She has an unwavering compassion towards people and it shows through her ability to teach her 2nd grade class. The students love her, she is able to meet the students where they are at, and treat them with kindness and respect at all times which when i grew up many teachers didn’t. I have a special appreciation for Alaina Mok and she is an outstanding candidate for this prestigious award!!!
