Ms. Lemmon works hard every year to help each student see themselves as a mathematician. This happens with a positive classroom environment first! Her students start the year by working on their communication and collaboration styles. They learn that everyone's thinking is needed, shared, valued and respected. When students have room to see their own thinking as part of the collective learning mission, everyone sees the value in the classroom community. They also work on this every day in a morning meeting.
