Ms. Bockelman strives to create a classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn. As a kindergarten teacher, she knows that many students are entering school for the first time, so building positive relationships is her top priority. She greets each student warmly each morning, celebrates their successes, and encourages a growth mindset by praising effort, perseverance, and kindness.

Her classroom is built around clear expectations, consistent routines, and positive reinforcement through the PBIS system. Students are recognized for being respectful, responsible, and safe, which helps create a supportive learning community where everyone is encouraged to make good choices. She also incorporates collaborative learning, hands-on activities, and opportunities for students to share their ideas so every child feels like an important member of the classroom family. She believes learning should be engaging and joyful. She provides interactive lessons, movement breaks, and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of her students. By fostering respect, encouragement, and a sense of belonging, she helps students develop the confidence to take risks, ask questions, and become lifelong learners.
