Mr. Nunez believes creating a positive classroom environment begins with providing developmentally appropriate equipment that allows all students to participate, learn, and build confidence. Age-appropriate physical education equipment removes barriers that many elementary students face when practicing fundamental skills. When equipment matches students' developmental abilities, they are more willing to take risks, stay engaged, and experience success.

Using regulation-sized PE equipment that is appropriate for student age groups enables learners to develop essential motor skills such as passing, dribbling, shooting, and teamwork in an environment where success is achievable. Rather than becoming discouraged by undersized equipment, students are motivated by their accomplishments, which foster perseverance, sportsmanship, and a growth mindset. Appropriate equipment also increases participation by enabling more students to be actively involved simultaneously. Increased touches on the ball, more scoring opportunities, and smaller-sided games create an inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and capable. This approach supports diverse learners and encourages collaboration, communication, and positive peer interactions.
