Music that Describes Anjalee

Anjalee Beverly was nominated by her friend, Mimi Feissa.

"I have had the privilege of watching Anjalee grow into an extraordinary educator and leader whose impact reaches far beyond the students in her own classroom. While many teachers make a difference one classroom at a time, Anjalee has dedicated her career to improving learning experiences for entire school communities while preparing the next generation of educators," said Feissa.

At her school, Ms. Beverly serves as the Project-Based Learning Coach, Mentor Teacher, and School Events Coordinator, where she supports teachers in implementing engaging, student-centered instructional practices and fosters a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement. She also developed and launched a schoolwide writing initiative that established a cohesive writing curriculum for students in grades one through eight, strengthening writing instruction and creating consistency across classrooms.

Understanding that schools thrive when families are true partners in education, Ms. Beverly founded the African American Parent Advisory Council to ensure Black families, an underrepresented population within her school community, had a meaningful voice in school decision-making. She has also led schoolwide celebrations for Hispanic Heritage Month, Black History Month, and Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, creating opportunities for students to celebrate diverse cultures while fostering a stronger sense of belonging across the campus.

Despite her extensive leadership responsibilities, Ms. Beverly remains deeply committed to her students. She provides free after-school tutoring every Monday, regularly invites families into her classroom to celebrate student learning, and translates classroom communications into families' home languages to ensure every parent can actively participate in their child's education.

Her influence extends beyond her school. As an adjunct faculty member at San Francisco State University and graduate instructor at the University of the Pacific, she prepares future educators to implement culturally responsive, evidence-based instructional practices that support multilingual learners and students from diverse backgrounds. Through her university teaching, mentoring, conference presentations, and instructional leadership, she is shaping not only the students she teaches today but also the thousands of children who will one day be taught by the educators she prepares.

"To me, that is what makes her a true LifeChanger. Her impact doesn't stop at one classroom or even one school. She is building stronger teachers, stronger schools, and stronger communities, ensuring that students for years to come will benefit from her vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to educational excellence," concluded Feissa.
