Kailyn Ramos was nominated anonymously.

In Ms. Ramos' classroom, she and her students build a community by interacting with one another in a positive manner. They have daily check-ins and support for one another. In the classroom, a mistake is never an endpoint, but an amazing learning opportunity for growth as people and scholars. The class listens to jazz and/or music frequencies to calm everyone's brain. She and her students stretch daily before class begins to get everyone's cognitive brains ready to learn, and so that students show up as their best selves. The class practices patience and assumes positive intent to ensure everyone feels welcome and able to take learning risks.
