Julia Sanford was nominated anonymously. 

Ms. Sanford creates a positive classroom environment by encouraging her students to never give up. She constantly reassures them that they can do anything they put their minds to as long as they try. In addition, she encourages her students to not be afraid to try something new. They know it is perfectly fine to make mistakes. This helps with the learning process. Her students work on respect and other social skills so they can develop positive peer relationships.

Julia has spent many years helping her students become the very best versions of themselves they can be. Several of her former students have stopped me to tell me of how much of a positive impact she has had in their lives, even several years after they graduated from high school. She does her best every day to prepare her students not only for their high school years, but for life beyond school.
