LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

JoAnna Harvey was nominated anonymously. 

A positive classroom experience looks different from one room to the next. This year, Ms. Harvey will be working in a special education early childhood room. For her, a positive classroom experience involves showing these young students that each person is unique and has their own strengths. 

During the year, she wants students to not only learn necessary tasks, but about themselves. She wants to get each student to see themselves in a positive light for the things they bring to the table, and not the things they lack. To do this, her goal is to to offer multiple ways for students to interact with learning and play. She lets her students showcase each concept they learn about in a variety of ways so that different learning styles can succeed.
