Kathyren Dean was nominated anonymously. 

Ms. Dean works intentionally to create a positive classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn.

She begins building relationships before the school year starts by sending personalized postcards to each student, letting them know how thrilled she is to welcome them into our classroom family. Each morning, she greets students with a hug or high‑five and a genuine smile to set a warm, predictable tone for the day.

Inside the classroom, she designs a space that feels like home: cozy, inviting, and filled with student work. She establishes clear routines, celebrates effort, and teaches emotional regulation so students feel confident and supported.

Through community-building rituals, student leadership opportunities, and strong family partnerships, she cultivates a classroom culture rooted in joy, belonging, and respect. She is entering her sixth year in the classroom and her second year teaching Kindergarten.
