Ms. Cooper creates a positive environment in the classroom by getting to know something about each student before they enter the classroom. An example is things they like/dislike and strategies she can put in place to help them be successful & have a great year of learning! 

Ms. Cooper follows this up with a “Getting to Know Your Child” for their parents/guardians to fill out that is very beneficial for her at the beginning of each year. Each student fills out an “All About Me” paper attached to a brown paper bag for them to put 3-5 items that represents who they are. They each will share their items with the class as a presentation. Ms. Cooper has found this is a great way to build a classroom community from the beginning of school and to set a caring & collaborative environment.
